But i'd love to know if same species can marry then in BonBon, since there are laws, like you don't need to know what the guy or girl did to be there...

vannessa was very clear about the mating, only of the same species can have cubs. a fox with a vixen, a wolf with a wolf, a bear with a bear, a mouse with a mouse, a cobra with a cobra, a stalion with a mare etc etc.
BUT they have said nothing about marriage of different species. I think that its possible , because Red is now in love with Betty and maybe, if all problems are clear, he will marry her.

That question bothers me a tad too, I couldn't stand being married and knowing my husband would sleep with others...

Actualy she said that every one in the same animal group could produce offspring. Canines with canines. Felines with felines ect. It would just be hybrids.

Well for me, if the person with who I have a relation, would have sex outside our relation he or she will have a long conversation with me about it.
But is he/ she is a person that wants sex much, or does it for work, he/ she has to tell me about it then its better for me to understand it and I think I will accept it.

| I believe what Vanessa means is that all species in the BB universe "breed true".Like has been said,cainies with canines etc.However,I wouldn't put it past some folks here to "push the boundries" by having marrage between two different species even if it's not socially exceptible.After all,love is blind you know! ~.^ |

I ended up fudging that rule in my fanfic... the close family friends of the Sixkiller family, the Turners, consist of a black bull and a female cougar/puma. I never intended them to be a "breeding couple", just a pair who loved each other very much and decided to "damn the rules" and get married. Then again, I wrote the first chapter before Vanessa had fully defined her "true breeding" rule in the forum...

my characters combo is decided long time ago, i only scrapted the skunk and fox part now out XD
but it's interesting to find out more about your chara :3

Well, her rule stands as the guideline. Just as someone might do in real life, you can have your spouse who's the same species as you, and then you have that "secret lover" who's a different species that excites your character. 
Like if Nelson and I were a couple, but I go off on Thursdays to see Johnny, *Puts an arm around Johnny's waist as she walks him out* even though I told the hubby I was going to the spa.

Remember that we're in the victorian age in which almost all the weddings were arranged or at least controlled and there were really harsh rules for choosing the bride or the groom for one's own heir. As I once said, if one wants to have offspring in Bon Bon's universe the mating must take place between animal of the same genus, whether canids, equids or felids, therefore if a grandparent wants to have a heir, some grandsons, it's mandatory for his son to marry an animal of the same species, whoever marries an animal of another species and doesn't have offspring is seen as dishonor for the family and therefore is disinherited because he'd end the family due to his selfishness.
Therefore Red COULD marry Betty, but it would be quite an unpopular wedding among his family.
I want to disclose a gift to you... I and other artists are working on a new comic written by me... a spin off with one of the main characters as a protagonist... and this time there will be a wedding! You'll just have to wait until 2010 to be able to see it.

Foxes, though canids cannot breed with other canids. A difference in the number of chromosomes prevents this, foxes have38, dogs 78.
However I am not sure if foxes can breed between their own species ie;
Red, fennic, grey, Arctic ect. Though it would be fun finding out.
