Blasphemy!

*shrug* Considering that Yoshitaka Amano created the character, and the second movie is more his art style, can it be blasphemous?

I'm not sure if this is the right spot, but Hi. Been a member for uh...3-4 months now? Figured it was about time to venture into the BBC forums. I didn't see any 'new member' stickies, so I apologize if I'm butting in.

Welcome to Bon Bon, Varsalo. Very Happy

Most people actually create a new thread to introduce themselves in, but that's really up to you.

Ok, one question, I couldn't find a good answer in the FAQ. Is there a way to upload my own avatar? Being an artist I do my own. I didn't see any buttons to upload a personal one, perhaps this is something earned after posting here long enough? Also, is it ok to link my FA profile at the end of my posts? Didn't see anything in the rules off hand about that.

But besides that, thanks for the welcome! I'm sure I'll find my niche here soon enough.

You'll have to send an e-mail to Ronald and he'll fill you in on the details.

Or you could just pose the question to him here on the forum and he'll respond here.

if you wanna post a link in your signature, i believe that you have to lose the "total noob" ranking, so that you can actually post a signature. as far as the avatar goes, i believe you gotta emial ronald.

That makes sense. Allows the Mods to approve an image before hand. I suppose I need to consider how does my fursona fit in here. I'll just list the basics, and let me know if anything is too far out-there for this universe.

Traveling artist. Norse shamanism researcher. A red fox, but slightly physically altered by a ritual mistake involving a drake spirit. Prefers the open roads to the cities, and clothing reflects this. A loose vest is better than a suit-jacket, boots above loafers. Etc. Visiting Bon Bon, I'm sure he'd be the type to sit at the dance stages, and draw the girls. I wonder how much the girls value art? Enough for a favor or two?

When you mention physical change and a drake spirit, it concerns me, as dragons have no place in Bon Bon, so if he has any draconic features from that incident, it may not go over well. Other than that, seems ok.

I'd actually wondered about that. You'd think a sleek, sexy antro-dragoness would fit in with Bon Bon. Perhaps they're just foreign and exotic to this area?

I suppose if there's no place for drakes/dragons in this world, even in stories, then I'll have to nix the minor feature additions to my fursona. At least for here.

yea there are no mythical/fantasy creatures allowed what-so-ever. dragons, vampires, werewolves... ya get the idea.

varsalo, maybe you could answer a question thats been nagging me at the back of my mind. what is the appeal of dragon characters in anthro art? im only curious becuase i see alot of dragons/dragoness's in this style of art, and it seems out of place to me. i mean no disrespect/offense(reading this over i sound alittle bitchy, sorry Embarassed but thats not gonna stop me from being curious )

It's no problem Marx-Paragon, I understand your curiosity. While I'm much more inclined to vixens, dragoness' have a certain appeal to them. Now of course I'm talking about Anthro style, not the four-legged type. A lot of artist take liberties with Anthro dragons. Giving them features like breasts etc. I think what's appealing about this type is the sleekness, the curves, the exotic wings, a dexterous tail, dangerous claws, sharp teeth, a long tongue. As a whole, it's something different than the norm. The combination of danger, curves, and the exotic. The sexiness of a piece has a lot to do with the artist's style too.

But thanks ya'll for clearing up the Bon-Bon universe race allowances. Heh, guess I could always just wear a dragon-masquerade mask if I wanted. Weren't there masquerades during this time period?

Well, sorry. I don't pay much attention to numbers, hence all my majors and minors having nothing to do with math.

And Marx, no vampires? Then what about Scarlett? I do believe that she is a vampire (even if its only part)

And dragonesses/dragons can be made into the sexiest creatures ever. I'm much better at drawing by hand then computer, and I'll spend hours just drawing a sexy, sleek anthro dragoness. Varsalo is right, with the wings, breast, hips, tail, fangs, and claws, its an amazing combonation of sex, and danger. Everyone, even if they don't know it, wants to have someone like that. Sleek, exotic, and dangerous. Why do you think so many people have gone out wtih me in te past? I am apperantly the human equivalent of an anthro dragon.

((And no, I don't have wings/fangs/claws.))

Hmmm...You'd have to ask Vanessa that, and there is NO WAY I'm putting on those accessories. the worst I've ever done by way of animal costuming is where one of my numerous fursuits. ^^
My favorite is the one that is made to look like Cassandre L.R.

Well first let me welcome you.

To answer the question a bit better Scarlett was a creation from one of the members that Vanessa found interesting and had an idea of how to incorporate her into the BonBon universe. The problem I for see is that if you do manage to convince Vanessa to allow anything remotely resembling a dragon in physical form would mean that she would get so many requests to allow other supernatural/mythological creatures that BonBon would be overrun by them.

The thing you must always remember here is that this is Vanessa Santato's world. Her rules are iron clad law and she can bend them any way she likes. That includes areas where Scarlett Blut is concerned, not to mention anything else.

Yeah, you're probably right about the mythical request flood it would bring. Fortunately, there are still some reptile species that are quite similar, minus the wings of course.
*ponders creating one for this universe as a personal challenge*
You also don't see many avian, though, I'll admit, that's an incredibly hard species to draw anthro.

Cassandre, are you saying you make fursuits? And couldn't a fursuit just have things like wings/fangs/claws added to the design?

Umm....Actually, I don't make fursuits, thats my sister...My older sister, Thalia....And she's sort of dead...Car crash....

And, I have nooo idea. I used to have one that kind of looked like a dragon, but Asshole ripped it up because he knew it was the last one made by my late sister, as well as my most treasured possesion, besides Cammilia, if she counts as one. (Which I kind of doubt. ^^)

He's ineligble for a Custom Avatar by Vanessa for now, or he's in line. Either way, he, as everyone else who's turn has not yet come, will have to make due with the icons provided.

And no, Cassandre, your niece/daughter does not count as a possession.
