PostPosted: Thu Jun 11, 2009 5:41 pm    Post subject: My story idea Reply with quote

I'm thinking of writing a story about my fursona. I've had some ideas on my mind for a while now, but they've really just been ideas. I don't know why I now consider actually writing them down. It might be because of my participation in my first RP. Or it might be something triggered by seeing Constance in the comic, as it was while staring at the page for I don't know which time, that an idea formed in my mind.

Basically I'm thinking of writing Constance's diary. So it'll just be her recollecting what has happened. I'm thinking that it'll allow me to write a story in sections based on my mood. Some parts of the diary will be long, while others will just be short entries where nothing particularly interesting has happened to her. Some days I might have time and energy for longer entries, so the format might help me actually add to the story somewhat regularly.

Aside from the work involved in actually writing this, one of the things that I'd say has been stopping me from writing something like this before, is the contents of the entries. The reason for this is that I'd also write about her having sex. It won't be in graphical detail, but it'll be there, with some entries of the diary being mainly about it. I'll probably write them in a pretty neutral way, like I've been trying when describing Constance's sexual preferences. I don't plan on it becoming a pornographic story.

Does this sound like a good idea? Would anyone be interested in reading Constance's diary? I'm afraid that I'm not very good myself at getting around to reading the stories that others post here, so I can understand if there's not much interest in this.

I was actually thinking of doing a missions log for Samuel, but due to the graphically violent nature of his stories, it seemed a taboo sort of thing to do. I actually favor stories told in a sort of retrospective view point, sort of how the stories of Interview with the Vampire and The Vampire Lestat are done.

I would love to read what you put out, Im sure it would be great.

I think it would be great, and I'd love to read it. The journal style gives it a more personal setting too, much better than third person, in my opinion anyways.

Dear Diary,
Today I found that Symphony was going to write a story about her fursona. All I know, is that it would be an amazing read, and I'm quite picky about books. I hope that she'll post it on the fprums, it'd be lovely.
Luve,

Thanks for the nice comments. Embarassed Smile

My main problem right now is what should be going on in the diary. Constance isn't a fighter or some adventurer, so there won't be tales of fighting weird monsters or exploring dark dungeons. I'd liek for somethign to happen, but I'll have to think about it some more. Right now I'm a little afraid that it'll end up being too much about sex, and while that certainly appeals to me, that's not really what I want. And I'm still considering the issue of writing sex scenes, even in a way that's not particularly graphic or detailed. It's a bit of a barrier to cross for me.

Make her get married, or fall in love or something. If she falls in love, a=make the guy die.

I have a question, Symphony.

Will the diary starts when Constance was a young girl or will you began the diary when she entered BonBon for the first time?

I would agree. You will do fine, just let it flow and start from the beginning.

If youd like ideas, Im sure the life of a musical artist is certainly full of interestings ups and downs. From stalkers, to travels, to terrible management, to beautiful exotic locations. Within your capability, Im sure, lies the means to make a brilliantly entertaining story concerning her travels and experiences with stardom.

That's probably a bit too serious and tragic for what I've been thinking of, but I can see how it could work for a similar character.

Thanks. I'm not really sure if I'd use other people's fursonas. Sure it would be easier to use then in a story like this one, as I won't really have to write actions and dialogue, but only tell it in a diary. On the other hand, I'd probably be too concerned about whether I was using the characters in a way that the owner was happy about, and generally not being sure how to fit them into the story properly. It's not out of the question though.

I was thinking that it would take place about a year or two before the PBB comic, so sometime around 1892 or so, while Constance's an adult, and a highly successful opera singer.

Thank you, though I'm afraid that I simply haven't been able to come up with such interesting ideas yet. I haven't got much that resembles and actual story. I think I may have been a little focused on potential erotic situations when coming up with ideas for such a diary. Embarassed

Hmm, I might have an idea of how you could implement the erotic side of the story... Perhaps start off having your diary entries being a bit less descriptive of the sex. For instance, maybe mention Constance having a bit of fun with a female member of the chorus in an opera she was performing in, or maybe a little tryst with a male friend, but keep the details vague and only express what Constance was feeling at the time (excitement, terror, embarrassment, euphoria, or what have you) rather than explaining things in lurid detail about sexual positions, anatomy or things of that nature. Then, introduce a character who perhaps starts to open her up to new experiences, and start to write diary entries having her explain some new position or new kink... and as the story progresses, perhaps Constance just naturally becomes more free with detailing her sexual escapades as she "comes out of her shell" and begins to get into interesting adventures.

By all means, don't feel afraid to explore and experiment with erotic storytelling. I have a feeling that as your character starts to open up and become more sexual in the story, you also will naturally become more and more comfortable with detailing the such things in your own writing.

Here's a random example that might work. Its sort of combined from when I had a stalker to, to a prof. singre's out look.

'Dear Diary,
Today the strangest thing happened. I saw a man on Delancy Street, and he followed me all the way up to my house, on Ruthsford Avenue. It's quite strange, and I beleive I might go to the police tomorrow. but, for now, I think I'll just relaz and think about my upcoming preformances.
Forever yours,
Constance'

You might also want to add little notes she might have gotten, because that's what I do with my diary.
I've also noticed that for some reason, famous people like to use French words, or sayings, so maybe in her dialouge, or in some snobby choir member's dialoug, make them say something French, like being all giggly and saying, "Ces't la vie!" or something.
(the diary entry is totally made up, I hope you don't mind, just trying to help you in anyway I can. I also made up the street names.)

That's not a bad idea, Johnny. I was actually thinking of starting out slow, both with what happens and in regards to the erotic elements. Unfortunately I really only think that I have plans for how to expands on the erotic elements, and not so much on other parts. Confused

and Cassandre, I'm not sure if that won't be a bit too much work for me, to add notes by others. I think it'll be easier to just stick with Constance's voice, which is relevant to me as I'm already concerned about how to properly write this anyway.

Would it seem out of place to use emoticons in the diary? I'm not fond of using them in stories, but they might be necessary to properly describe Constance's mood. I'm thinking that she would be the kind who might draw little stars, flowers, hearts or such next to the text in her diary, whenever she's happy or really like the passages she's writing.

I haven't started at all yet. My top priority right now is to be on time with my post for the RP. Then I'll have to think of exactly how to start it, and then there's the actual writing of course.

When I do start it, I'll make a new thread for it. I'm not sure if I'd liek people to comment in my diary thread or in this one. It'll of course be easier in the diary thread, but that could become confusing, but I'm not sure what's normal practice in story threads.

why not make a thread for the diary, and then a support thread so people can comment without interrupting the flow of things?

I've been a little busy these last couple of days, but I hope to be able to write and post the first entry of the diary tomorrow. It'll probably be a little boring, as I have to start out slow, and right now I really haven't planned that much ahead. I'll see how things work out for me.

I think I'll be adding a date to each entry. I don't plan on trying to be accurate in any way in regards to having the actual day of the week of that time, match the date I'm assigning to the entry. It's really just to show how long time has passed since the last entry, as I don't think that Constance will necessarily be writing in her diary every day.
