so heres some experience I would like to share
but first here's a short desc of what happened
Day 1:
Went into the plane, flew to bali, Only saw a small beach, I forgot but its a beach in bali called "dreamland"
We then had dinner in a chinese restaurant, with crabs and seafood
Day 2:
I visit a hotel in bali to have a look to how they work, then visit an art "Jenggala" ceramic factory, I painted a plate there After that we had seafood dinner in Jimbaran beach, the kind of seafood which will make every cat eye "pops" hungry x3
day 3:
Got a trouble with a friend in the morning, then I visit a "brem" (bali alcoholic drink) and "aroma" meat factory
after that we went to a sacred monkey forest sanctuary
and then we went for a dinner eating crispy duck in "laka-leke"
and also we are trained doing "bali kecak dance"
day 4:
interview day at grand hyatt. Other student and trainee can only use little english and still gotta use Indonesian language
I do the interview 100% english and pretty good, nervous a bit but I think I get the training =D
day 5:
free time and went home
PS:
new study for ya
while I was in a hotel visit I learned a great lesson to be a good hotel employee
maybe these can be used for info if Delight castle one day become a hotel like place?
I was teach that "training is inside learning" so example
Training is something like in a class studying, but learning is from other people, a process which we do for the rest of our lives, like maybe learning from our mistakes
A hotel employees is like a family, each has respect and dignity to each other, and a principle of "Don't do to others what you don't want others do to you"
basically treating each other hotel member as a family of sort
also as a hotel employee we must show "care" to our guest
The tutor told me of a story once where there's this honeymoon couple who is going to have a honeymoon in bali, they took a 22 hour flight on a plane and very tired, the bellboy show them to their room, but he noticed something wrong
the AC in the room leaked,
He could just leave the floor wet and let the Housekeeping clean it, but instead he waste no time and instead place a bath mat so the guest won't be slippery
he told what happen to the AC in the room and the guest was very happy, soon after that he call the engineering and they repair it asap without any need to explain more to the guest
The GM received words of the broken AC and noticed that it shouldn't happen like that, and he sent a champagne to the guest room, apologizing for what just happened
Another thing we have to do is "exceed" guest expectation
if the guest expects our service grade is A, we give them an A+
ex
a guest came into a bar, holding a cigaret, the guest looks confused, but the waiter still do nothing, unless asked where is the ashtray or if there's a lighter, this is A
but if the guest came and we can see from the body language he is looking for ashtray or lighter, we quickly give it to him as he sit.
Another thing,
if someone pay like maybe 2000$ for a night in a suite, do you think he expects a good service from all employee of a hotel?
I have to say yes,
I mean if you're a guest, when you ask a question like this to a bellboy
"Excuse me, do you know how long it take to go to Central park?"
then he say
"ahh sorry I do not know, perhaps you should contact the concierge?"
BAD MOVE
As a guest you don't want to be treated like a ping pong ball served back and forth between departments just to ask a simple question
the bellboy should answer this instead
"Ahh sorry I do not know, let me check that information for you"
that way the guest will still feel a good service, by letting the bellboy phoned the other department
well these are all I can share atm, _________________ My fursona can be seen here

I do enjoy flights. ^_^
Not so much when I get uncomfortable pains from being in an uncomfortable position in my chair for too long, but its nice to get up to the bathroom just to stretch your legs if possible. Unlike our military flights. ^^; _________________ The suspense is killing me. I hope it will last. |
