Beast Wars was good. And I actually liked Beast Machines as well. I just had to forget that I knew anything at all about the Transformers universe other than what the show was trying to establish.

You'd be surprised how many popular cartoons had that background. 
I remember reading something that whole He-Man thing was done to salvage a failed line of Conan toys.

Well, that's a pretty convincing argument on the surface, but the Conan character was around for a good 50 years before 1982.  From Wikipedia as well:

Originally, it was just Sha'Kaar returning and being welcomed back. It quickly degenerated into a debate about Transformers. I was beginning to think it ought to get chucked into General Discussions.

Well before it gets chucked out,.. let me just say hey again,.. i got hit with hard times suddenly again, and am just now picking up the pieces again.
I was just recently laid off from work, but on a bright side i got a few new job options opening up for me.
So now i am good, and hope to be on more.
