I think you'd have a better chance coming here for the casino than coming for a bounty. The city of Bon Bon prides itself with allowing its patrons to not have to worry about their past or anyone snooping into their business. Which means it could be a real getaway for anyone who has a price on their head.
No one is going to look into it or report it, so they can live out their days here in Bon Bon. _________________ Oh, I'd tell myself

Eh, someone looking for trouble is someone who's going to be paying me. Unless, of course, they can't pay. Then I would have to extract my fee in some alternative manner... _________________ "Doktor! Are you sure this will work?!" "HAHA! I HAVE NO IDEA!" |

Wait, what? By that statement, it sounds like you hate getting paid Kommy. *Chuckles* Are you a free clinic suddenly? _________________ Oh, I'd tell myself

No, just operating under the tradition of never being able to turn away a patient. I do very much like getting paid, but am creative when extracting payment from those who lack moneychips. _________________ "Doktor! Are you sure this will work?!" "HAHA! I HAVE NO IDEA!" |

Okey guys, we did alot discuss about my character's occupation. Why not he should be a bodyguard as his occupation? |

I guess it would be mostly because this place seems to have more pinkertons than Dodge City during the cattle season.
Shoot, we even have some supernatural-hunting pinkertons.
Anyway, just wanted to say howdy, and if you need a smoke, my Tobacco shop is open from ten in the morning till I decide to close for the day. |

Well, there's certainly no reason why you should not or could not be a bodyguard/mercenary. However, this place has been around long enough that online RP demographics are starting to kick new people in the rear. Counting Royal Members with avatars, we got something like... 13 combatant types? Half at least. Far more if you count those who do not possess one of Ms. Santato's lovely avatars. All this in a setting in which not a single violent conflict has ever happened, save slapstick. If you are looking for muscle, it is a buyer's market.
Guys always seem to have a hard time resisting the urge to be fighters for reasons I do not entirely understand. Or perhaps it's people all wanting to be 'unique', but always choosing the exact same way as other people. Goodness knows how many people here have wanted to be vampires. Not to mention the fact that of the four vixen avatars, three of them are blue, one brown, and none are actual red foxes, the most common kind.
My rambling aside, you are of course free to do as you see fit. You are the one in command of your own destiny and should not feel constrained by this. You can be whatever you wish. Just be wary I might just remember you as 'Mysterious Wandering Fighter #38'. Or maybe not. _________________ "Doktor! Are you sure this will work?!" "HAHA! I HAVE NO IDEA!" |

Eh wow that was...heh deep kommy. I really didn't think about it. When I chose my avatars ocupation I picked something I was familar with. I'm into the American Civil War, I'm in the Army National Guard, my dad served in the U.S. Air Force and so it just seemed natural for me to pick what my avatar should be. But thats just me. _________________ I am what I am and proud to be who I am.

I totally admit to picking my character's occupation because it was "cool" and made me seem quite manly... and I'm not ashamed to admit it freely, either. Besides, before I had even thought of creating a thorough backstory for my fursona, my thoughts were simply "how do i get a Native American character into a European town like Bon Bon?" Gun-totting trick-shootist seemed like a good idea at the time...
It was either that or make myself a master hat-maker (milliner, habidasher, or whatever you want to call the profession). The reason for that was to make use of the "mad as a hatter" phrase (and the Mad Hatter character made famous by Lewis Carroll at the time), thus tying it into the second half of my screenname, "Psycho". _________________ Johnny's Fanfics (including Sureshot! Well, your not being fair to an extent Kommy. Yes, we have plenty of fighting men, but that doesn't mean they're all ready to charge into a sword fight. Some are detectives, policemen, or simply have a weapon handy because they're loaded with cash. In fact, due to the time period we're in, I'm surprised we only have 2 thief like characters. There were all manner of thieves and hoodlums in this era.
Though, some of the men just classed "mercenary" should probably narrow it down a bit. Are you a Go-fer? As in, you do whatever job is asked of you? Go for this, Go for that? Are you a sword for hire? I know some of you probably classed Labrn in with that group, but he's only my personal bodyguard. Not a muscle for hire, though he'll certainly offer such a service to a damsel in distress. _________________ Oh, I'd tell myself

In 1895 most men would have had some military experience, especially those from a well to do background, so it would be natural for them to find employment in areas that they know. In real life both my mother's and father's families were labourers. miners, bakers engine drivers and general labourers{navies}all being common occupations for the men, while being house wives and factory workers was womens work. Not very exciting or rewarding.
So its not surprising that the forum users would pick a more adventurous background and life style. _________________ Terminus: http://forums.pleasurebonbon.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=239198#239198

If it makes you feel any better, Mystic, I'm fairly good at lifting. (that is, a form of theft in which you simply sneak something away quickly when no one is paying attention.) Though, I only do it for fun and with my friends. I love to see their reactions when they realize it's gone and when I give it back to them. _________________ Silentium est aurum

Yeah, I know I'm a bit of a killjoy. And I certainly complain, really. Violence is good for business, after all. _________________ "Doktor! Are you sure this will work?!" "HAHA! I HAVE NO IDEA!" |

Were you including me as one of those two thief-like characters, Mystic? It may not be as direct as a jewel thief or the like, but I do steal people's money - I just trick them into giving me it. I could pick pockets if I wanted to, but I earn enough through my tricks. _________________ Wow, sarcasm! That's original. |

For someone like me it's easier to just hold someone upside down, shake them and see what fall out of their pockets. _________________ I like old jokes. With them I know when to laugh. |

Hey hey, I'm a reformed bank robber, okay? I don't do that kind of stuff anymore... not much of a future in that line of work, except the type that ends with your neck getting stretched by the hangman's noose. I like my neck just the length it is, thank you very much. _________________ Johnny's Fanfics (including Sureshot! A Bon Bon Tale)

Just like the beginning of that one Bond movie, I think Tomorrow Never Dies, where the girl steal from the place and Bond helps her out talking about the security system and such to cover for her. Paying a thief to steal from you to see how easy it is to steal from you.
But yes, my bodyguard position is to Mystic. Otherwise, I think I'd fall into card-sharp and gigolo for Labrn's professions. _________________ The suspense is killing me. I hope it will last. |

That sounds more like the second Mission Impossible movie and nothing like Tomorrow Never Dies. _________________ Silentium est aurum |
