HI Everyone,
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!! MUAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
BIG KISSES all over your "sweet spots"! 
I hope you have a nice day with someone sweet and if you don't....then know you have me....here waiting for you to spend some time with. 
Because I'm an environmentalist.... I thought I should share just a couple of planet friendly Valentine's Day gift ideas:
**Instead of giving a dozen roses...give 1 rose. It's less of an impact on pollution. Also purchase your rose from a local farmers market. The flowers at the grocery stores, have traveled so far causing so much pollution to get to your local store plus those beautiful flowers you'll buy at the store has polluted our water with all the pesticides used to grow the flowers.
**Do not give chocolates made with palm oil! Most chocolates do have palm oil in them. Palm oil contributes highly to the deforestation going on in Indonesia.
**Burn soy candles instead of those traditional yucky petroleum kind. There are some soy candles that melt the oil and then can be used warm as a massaging oil!
**Give organic cotton lingerie instead of that cheap pesticide filled regular stuff.
**Buy ingredients for your entire dinner from your local farmers market!
Just FAB!!

p.s. have you heard of that "solar vibrator"?? no....seriously!

I hope that your day is filled with fun and love.....
Love the fact that you are posting so many great ideas that are Planet Friendly....You are not only Beautiful and Stunning...
But, you also are so involved in finding new ways to help Mother Earth....
You also back up what you say and preach about it.....
So, to me that even makes you even more sexier than you already are....If that is even possible....
By the way Alley....We have replaced all our standard candles with the soy candles about a month ago........
Anyway, keep up the great work...I am going to redo my roof this year...It's about time...So, I am putting in an organic roof...
They are starting to pop up here and there here...All organic, better insulated to keep in heat even better....Nothing but great things about them. So, I am going to go in that direction.....So, I am happy to be doing even more to help Mother Earth....So, I will be putting it in this Summer....I will let you know how it turns out and send you some pic's....I think you will find great...They work well in the NW...The climent is perfect for them here.....
Anyway Alley, You have a great and happy Valentine's Day.....
And also Thank You for continuing to post all the great ideas....Keep it up...We all learn so many new things because of your hard work...So, I for one want to Thank You so much for all you do....,

MT.....You are SOOOOOOOOOO B A D!
Actually Nebraska....I don't know if you are speaking of this or not....but there are these little small potted plants that you can put on your roof top or anywhere else for that matter (sides of your house and all)....to keep your home insulated the natural way. I'm not sure of other benefits but it's SOOOOOOO super COOL!! and VERY VERY beautiful too! The plants don't need much water at all. I would LOVE to do this to my home one day. I just need to find that perfect home first : )

Hi Alley....
Yes that is basicly what I am going to do....
I am putting in a Green Roof. Since I am planning on putting up a new roof anyway this summer. I wanted to go this route. I am going to completely add on and strengthen the roof support beams. And also, install a completely new a stonger plywood base. Then then use some water proofing and roofing repellent...Do a little boarder framing to account for the roof pitch. Put in a couple layers of filter cloth and the fiddle around with the drainage system to make sure it is right for the project...Then throw on some peat moss and go crazy with planting some native plants....
It will be awesome...I at first was going to go with the potted plant idea....That was the most cost effective by far...But, I was talking with someone whose daughter I am going to shoot her wedding in August. Anyway, he owns a roofing company and I told him what I was thinking...Anyway,we worked out a deal. That I would shoot and deliever about a $5,000 wedding with albums and pic's...And he would trade with same amount of labor and materials...So, that made my decision alot easier. because I was bartering for about 5 G's...So, that made going this route more affordable for me...So, then I could go up the next level from the potted green roof idea...
The benifits are fantastic....I get a great Habitat for my friends the birds and the bee's....It will help keep the house warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer...way less energy use.....The roof will be absolutly fire retardent....my roof life will be alot longer....And all in all it is just absolutly the way to go....I am so excited to get this done...Like I said...I will be sending you photo's of the building process and the stages of completion..Then when it is all finished....
The planted pot green roof idea is also a super way to go...And does the same thing absolutly...This is just a little more expensive. I would 't have gone this way without the barter for saving some money....I hope that someday you are able to install and have your green roof on your home...I know you would absolutly love it....So, I know someday you will have it...
