When I was 8 years old the teacher let us sing a song of 5 couplets. The class was seperate in 5 groups and we had to sing and when one couplets was done the next group started with the song. It was very funny and inspiriting.

In the most basic way I know how to say it, you create a character in your mind. Use as much detail as you like. (most people think the more detail in the character, the more fun you'll have.) Then, put yourself in your character's shoes and talk about him in the third person, as though you were reading a book. What he does, what he says, what happens, the people he meets, anything really. But you also have to remember about the other people in the story, and not do anything rude. Things like taking all the glory, throwing the story in a completely new direction, etc. I think that about covers it, unless anyone else wants to add something I may have left out?

Good roleplayers can create a detailed and fun story while keeping things open for other players to work with... it's like writing a story with friends.

One thing that I (and I'm sure others) find extremely irritating is when someone controls someone else's character in their roleplay of their own character (such as having a conversation between the two of them, providing their own dialogue for both characters). If someone did that to me, I'd be like "Hey, you don't know what I would say there!" So, yeah, avoid using someone else's character (unless they have agreed to let you do so).

I haven't tried roleplaying online either. I don't think it's something for me. I don't really know that much about how such roleplays usually evolve. I guess I sort of have the picture in my mind of a group of people all trying to tell a story and have their character do all kinds of things. I'd probably be more interested if someone would run a rp like a DM, who could come up with an interesting story and be able to introduce side characters to help move the story along.

Another thing is what kind of rp I'd personally find suitable for Bon Bon characters. I can certainly understand how an adventure like the gold old fashioned D&D games must be interesting to roleplay, but in the PBB universe, I'd probably pick a less violent genre. Perhaps some kind of Cluedo-like game could be fitting and fun, though perhaps one that doesn't revolve around a murder mystery.

The final hindrance to me is my fursona. I designed her with adult situations in mind, which really isn't something I'd like to roleplay.

I'd not worry about nobody posting replies to your stories. Case-and- point, I'll read a lot, but... I really don't feel qualified to say anything about them. I know I could just say "wow that was great", and sound really cheesy. So... I tend not to say anything.

It's kinda odd though... you might not think it, but you do get a following. Second case-and-point, my boyfriend used to post over at DakkaDakka fairly regularly as "LtCraggs". He got tired of the standard reviews of armies most of the folks their gave (it's a gaming website mostly for warhammer / 40k, and its competitors). So... he started doing "story reviews" instead. Still reviewed the army, but more from an "in-game" sort of way instead of the usual way. Models didn't cost "points"... they cost "silver".

So... point being, while he didn't get a whole lot of replies to his reviews, he did get a pretty devoted following of folks who posted appreciation to his efforts.

So... while you might not get a whole lot of posts / replies to your stories, that is in no way indicitive of how many people actually read / enjoyed them.

As you all know, I discovered my natural talent was not so much in writing complex, powerful stories, but really shameless porn. As I'm trying to improve my writing, I'd like to upload works-in-progress to try to see if I can improve the characters and plot over time. (That is, as I improve the stories, I can keep reuploading the improved versions of the chapters). I can't do that on this forum for a variety of reasons. One of which is that this forum seems to prefer innuendo rather than outright sex.

I have a DeviantArt account, but I can't figure out how to post stories written to it. The site has literature on it, but I can't figure out how to use it. It seems that it wants me to just upload images. If somebody can help me out, then let me know.

The other choice is to move to other sites. To be honest, I'm starting to dislike DeviantArt anyway, because it seems the site is heavily infected with banner ads with hidden malware in them. I don't know if anybody has any recommendations on which site I should use, since I've seen the PBB writers use different sites.

To add my own two cens, I don't really focus too much on roleplaying here, cause as mentioned before, sometimes the focus of where you WANT the rp to go gets thrown off by others. Then, also, there is that nasty burden of having made a post, and you can't make any more that day, only to have over 10 the next day, making you lag WAY behind. Too much trouble for me.

Its not that the site prefers innuendo, but that's what we've all done during regular, non-roleplaying threads, such as what Johnny and I were back and forthing in the thread "Issue 7, The Guest" where we interacted, but any hardcore scenes were left out.

Now, that's not to say I'd never roleplay such a scene, but promised I'd keep things tame in the general areas for other members who are not here to read how I might be screwing the brains out of a few choice members.

However, if your starting up an RP thread. There's nothing saying you can't have gratuitous sex scenes, or in your stories. I know Johnny had one of himself and *taps her chin thinking* Was it Ophelia or Dalila Johnny? Anyways, you get the idea. If all you can play out is hardcore smut, power to you. Go fuck 'em once for me. *Laughs rather pleased with the sound of that.*
