You always gotta wonder what someone's reaction will be when they learn a new term. Especially when it revolves around anything erotic or of a sexual nature. _________________ The suspense is killing me. I hope it will last. |

I think Edelweiss is a lady you can spend a very lovely and interesting weekend with. Maybe she won't have a temper like Betty or Violet, but she has a lot of experience that will bring you a lot of joy outside the bedroom (as Labrn mentioned ) _________________ click here |

Hmm, we still haven't fully learned whether or not if she's Mary's mother. Therefor, we don't even know if she's a mother, which would kind of cancel her out as a MILF.
However, depending the age of our tenants, she can still classify as a cougar! _________________ Oh, I'd tell myself

Motherhood is'nt soley dependant on having had a child, Mystic. I'd say Edelweiss definatly qualifies as a mother, whether she's given birth or not. _________________ Silentium est aurum |

I miss a few threads and I miss an intriguing conversation about linguistics. You never know what you might miss on a public forum about an adult, furry-oriented web comic.
You know, I never really thought about the definition of MILF that much. I used to think that it meant a female that has endured the hardship of bearing and raising children, but has remained surprisingly sexually attractive. I think that it's because most people don't normally think of mothers in that way, so it has a "forbidden" appeal to it.
However, as English slang changes as rapid as the changing of the days of the week, Wikipedia claims that MILF that it's now a generic term for any "older" sexually attractive female, regardless if she is a biological mother or not.
I personally agree with Mystic. It feels kind of like a cheat to call any older woman a MILF, because there's plenty of very attractive women in their 30's. Personally, I like to think of Edelweiss as a sexy and mature woman rather than try to stick an acronym on her. |

The Christmas picture of Edelweiss. The blonde, white furred feline and Queen of the Delight Castle, in case you can't remember or don't know who that is. _________________ Silentium est aurum

((Um... okay, my German is about as good as my Japanese is, but... doesn't Edilweiss mean "Mountain Flower" or something?
Um... so taking this from a Bishojo sort of prospective, I never really thought of Edilweiss as a MILF, but as the older more-experienced sister... who knew what she was doing, and often would help out her younger sisters understand what was going on... or sometimes help the naive, innocent boys understand how a woman's body worked, so that the boy wouldn't inadvertantly hurt the heroine... um... not sure if a lot of you know this, but... um... it really can hurt... a lot... the first time for a girl.
Point being, I always thought of Edilweiss as the older, more experienced, sister.)) |

Edelweiss is a plant that can mostly be found in the Alps (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), partially in higher regions of the Himalaya. In the first three countries mentioned it is almost extinct, so it is now under protection and people must not pluck it.
There used to be a custom that men climbed up a mountain to find an Edelweiss and took it back to the girl he loved to proof his love.
The myth says that it was created of the tears of a virgin that cried for her untrue lover _________________ click here |

Learning the history of the name of this flower, I can see where Vanessa got the inspiration for the character. As some of you recall, and for those new here, each character in the Pleasure Bon Bon has a name with a meaning special to that character. Either their name is similar to the color of their hair or common outfit, or a deeper meaning. Take Mr. Blue and Mary Blue. The last name Blue because both are Blue felines. (At least, I think that's what she said)
Though, I suppose you don't have to be the one who birthed them to be a mother. She did adopt the twins and Betty. I guess that makes her a MILF once again. *Sighs, and lets go of her grip on Johnny* Alright boy, go ahead. _________________ Oh, I'd tell myself

Yes, this is true; here is an Edelweiss :
http://enciclopedia.corriere.it/enciclopedia/immagini/ImmaginiVideo640x/edelweiss_edelweiss.JPG
In Italy we call it Stella Alpina (literally alpine's star). This is a "soft" flower
because the petals are..." furry"
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f3/Edelwei%C3%9F.png
If you take a look on the yellow skirt of Edelweiss : http://www.pleasurebonbon.com/character_info-edelweiss.html
you will noticed that here are these flowers embroidered on it and there are the reproductions in felt on the garters. In north Italy, where I go sometime in vacations, people can buy dead Edelweiss contained in frames and souvenir. You cannot pick them, it is forbidden from the law, but when the flower dies does not fade ever! It remains for always white and soft, so comes used to create some souvenir. http://www.edelweissgrowers.com/img44.jpg

I think I've changed my mind here, actually. I think a MILF should really only apply to women who are actually mothers. As others have said, though, language generally changes. I love the term that Mystic mentioned - a cougar. I think it's a much better word to use for older women, for more than one reason.
I was thinking that you were a cougar in that sense of the word yourself, Mystic, but then I realised you're too young for that; though you do appear to often have the mindset of one. _________________ Wow, sarcasm! That's original. |

Now that would be something. *Imagines the insanity* We'd find young men strewn about the place, ravaged with a look of pleasure half-glued on their gobs.
As for the question about Mystic, we're both younger for the sake of Bon Bon. These would be the earlier "wild" years for the both of us. Otherwise, the two of us tend to look like we're in our younger to mid 30s in most stories or appearances. So your not too far off Tadelesh. _________________ The suspense is killing me. Well, I am a black feline similar to a panther. *Puts her hair up similar to how Kommy's hair was on the billboard, as well as some aged glasses and a shawl* My hair is silvery white already, so I can't really age it, but a bit of powder here and there to make my fur seem a bit more old and faded..*Makes the necessary makeup fixes* There we are. Ready to prowl upon the unsuspecting youths of Bon Bon. _________________ Oh, I'd tell myself

This is something I really like about Vanessa's characters. It adds even more depth to them, and raises my respect for Vanessa's work even further. It all seems so fleshed out and it makes me look at the rest of the characters to try to find out which meanings their names and clothes have.

Personally I've never realy been a fan of the term "cougar". I don't know why that is. Perhaps it's because I've always preferred "milf".
Anyway, isn't there a difference between a milf(whether a mother or not) and a cougar, in that a cougar actively seeks out younger men to have sex with, while this isn't necessarily the case for a milf? Just some random thought from the back of my head. _________________ Constance Mayflower's bio
