Not that I'll answer or anything, but... like... um... what sorts of questions? And... no. I kinda paid for the whole day / evening / night myself. Overall, the date was more fun than actually trying the toy.

1. Why were you worried about if your toy, and inanimate object, would suddenly develop an opinion of you?
2. Wouldn't all toys of an "adult" nature naturally be quite "easy" themselves, that is considering such toys had personalities?
C. What would a sex toy's favorite movie be? Toy Story? Pecker? Maybe something starring the world's largest talking dildo, Tom Cruise?
5. Do battery-operated sex toys dream of inflatable sheep?
M. Did your toy have a good time on the date too?

Although Johnny's questions are hilarious, I can actually understand your feelings that were the reasons behind you going on that date. Especially if (and I'm not asking for a confirmation or denial here) you were a virgin at the time. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you felt like you needed to treat it like a person so you felt more at ease using it, because you would normally date a person before "using" them. _________________ Wow, sarcasm! Well, boys, as I said... um... I wasn't really planning on giving an answer. I... get kinda weird talking about myself.
Though, Johnny Six-Pack, um... you might want to make sure someone gets your humor before you post it. While I'm no longer an awkward teen, and twenty something, sometimes my old defenses go off. I know you didn't mean anything by your questions... um... I'm assuming just morbid curiosity, but... um... you know.
Anyway HARD TO PORT!!!! *Grabs the helm, and steers the ship back onto track*
I noticed two things going through some of the other members and royals here... we have a lot of wolves / foxes... and we have a whole lot of pinkertons.
But... what about a Veternarian? Or at least, a horse doctor? Or maybe a surveyor? Does Bon Bon have a port? If it does, that adds a whole lot of maritime trades as well. And, what about ye old fashioned Bankers and Banks? Not to mention Lawers... Johnny Six-teeth needs someting to rob, right?
Or, barring that, what about news paper journalists? Roland has those printer-sleeve thingies on, and their is the Omnibus, but... what about newspapers? |

It took me a while to read over this thread since I was curious to see what professions that people wanted. I think that people are overthinking a little when they are trying to come up with an occupation. I think that your job shouldn't necessarily lock you into a certain roleplaying style, since your job doesn't necessarily reflect your hobbies or lifestyle. I understand that people seem to be reluctant to have a very labor-intensive job like "plumber", but I personally think that "engineer" is just fine. It is unlikely that Jillian can't be doing the only mechanical work in Bon Bon. Who knows, maybe you can even date her (presumably that you're male and can ween her away from that Perfect Gentleman Project).
I can provide a number of suggestions for people really struggling to find a fun career, but I'm surprised that nobody has said anything really interesting. You know, like Stained Glass Maker, which would be very common in this time period. Louis Tiffany (as in "Tiffany & Co.") made his famed stained-glass pieces, including the iconic Tiffany lamps, during the 1890's.
In any case, if I had to roleplay something, then I want to be a florist. Not a flower girl, but the kind that owns a flower shop. |

One of our other Royal Members, Marauder (aka: Robert Stone), is also an engineer and inventor, so I'm sure he and Miss Jillian probably work out of the same garage/workshop, or at least have run-ins with eachother professionally. But anyway... I agree with Kasumi's first point, that most folks overthink things when trying to find a way to fit their character into the "ecology" of Bon Bon. Most of us would likely be visitors anyway, since the city's a tourist attraction, so it seems odd that so many of us aren't taking the easy route and playing as tourists, rather than implanted citizens. You'd think the carefree lifestyle of a traveling "gentleman of leisure" would be more alluring to some folks...
As for Caroline's earlier question about the large number of lupine and vulpine characters, it's simply how furry fandom as a whole works: foxes and wolves seem to be highly popular, although I'm personally baffled as to why there hasn't been a single hare, rabbit, or bunny among the Royal Members... usually bunnies are just behind cats in popularity among furries!
BTW, I'm retired from bank robberies, thank you... I make my money in a much more seedy and underhanded business: show-business! _________________ Johnny's Fanfics (including Sureshot! A Bon Bon Tale)

That is quite a good point. Most of us have established occupations/professions, and live in Bon Bon, rather than taking an extended vacation in the town. I haven't quite put the finishing touches to my character yet. With his occupation, though, he could really be doing it anywhere, so I guess I could be just passing through but decided to stay. I'll have a think about it. _________________ Wow, sarcasm! That's original. |

Yeah, the whole point of my character is that he's a traveling showman, who happens to be taking an extended stay in Bon Bon. I never really intended on Johnny Six-Killer becoming a resident of the town, just a traveler who's having a hard time getting motivated to leave. Not that I'd blame him... _________________ Johnny's Fanfics (including Sureshot! A Bon Bon Tale)

Personally, I think it would be pretty tough to HOLD a job in Bon Bon. It's the city of sex and unless it was part of your job you'd be getting "distracted" constantly. _________________ "One night in Bangkok and the world's your oyster.

Hello there Caroline. I can't recall if we've met or if I'm welcomed you in. Forgive me not digging too deep in this thread. When I haven't been around, I tend to just jump to the last 2 or 3 pages and make replies if I can.
Johnny is encouragble hun, so don't mind or take too much offense to any of his questions. Perhaps he didn't realize how sensitive you might be, though he still has a gentle heart. Just a terrible trickster at heart.
The only reason I've decided to become a more permanent resident are 1) I've left my home place since I couldn't take the throne, and 2) There's a gentleman here who owns his own Diamond Mind! *ahem* and being a jeweler and one fascinated by the lovely colors and shapes of those luscious gems, I have to stay.
Not to mention Labrn would probably put on a show to stay near the casino and the gals. _________________ Oh, I'd tell myself

I tend to be truly terrible only to people I like, so no one should really take offense... joking about inappropriate subject matter is just my way of saying "Hello". I suppose I still haven't quite grown up, in that respect... but then again, maturity's over-rated. _________________ Johnny's Fanfics (including Sureshot! A Bon Bon Tale)
