I'm a new member, so I apologize if this is a weird question. I was looking over the Works In Progress and I saw an image of Sidney Brown. I'm guessing that she's probably some native Australian animal. Is she a dingo?
I was just wondering. |

Sidney, a dingo? A dingo is basically a wild dog. A kangaroo, which she is, is.. well.. very different. If you'd asked if she was a wallaby, I'd say that's close enough. What's next? Someone asking if Martin is a duck?
As an afterthought, sorry if I sound condescending there. I had no idea that things like that aren't common knowledge. _________________ Wow, sarcasm! That's original. |

Oh, I didn't realize that was a pouch. I thought the lines were part of her outfit. I guess that makes sense now.
I was trying to search the forums for an answer, but the search function only hits the thread and won't go directly to the posts with the keywords listed in them. Many of the threads on this forum appear to be very long so it's hard to scan through all the pages. |

I went back and re-read all of the PBB comics again. I realized that I missed a lot of content, and I was somewhat surprised. I had to stop looking at the text, and focus on the artwork.
I didn't even catch the several panels showing Sidney and the Outback Omnibus, because I was too busy thinking about the primary storyline, especially with Red's increasingly complicated relationship with Betty and Mary. I guess that's what happens when you join only recently, and you try to read the comics like your typical Marvel/DC comic.
In most comics, backgrounds are nothing more than eye-candy, but in PBB, even the background characters and such are treated as important. Even if you don't follow all the RP on the forum, the comic will clue you into the relationships and such. I might have to review the comics a few more times to catch everything.
In some ways, I kind of disappointed myself by doing that, because while I can't roleplay, I do like to write, even if nobody else gets to read it except myself... It's a weird feeling, but I like when I have a spark of creativity and I have to hurry and write it down on something. Anyway, I've had ideas for a story, but I was still trying to frame all the main plot points and such. At the time, I wanted to use a non-essential PBB character that wasn't already "taken", so originally I was going to use Meg Hazelnut. But looking at the comic again, I think that she's already seeing somebody so I'll have to rethink my storyline. |

Meg's own description in the striptease section pretty much defines her as a "street-walker", as well as a seller of delicious nut snacks. I think the scene you're referring to would be considered a rendevous between Meg and a client (btw, that's lion is a royal member by the name Tursi). He might be a regular client, but one doesn't instantly assume that there's anything more going on than an amiable business relationship, unless Vanessa points out otherwise. _________________ Johnny's Fanfics (including Sureshot! Its just many members here have their favorites, right Johnny?
The same could be said of Violet and Drake, Johnny and Daisy, or Xebulon and Sibilla. *Giggles happily, mostly to herself* Or even a little fling between Ronald and myself. _________________ Oh, I'd tell myself

<sigh>
If you scroll up a bit, you'll know that I was writing things. After trying to write up an interesting background story for my character, I found out that I am just too pathetic of a writer. However, if I ever wanted to be a script writer for a porno, then I could probably do it.
I can't roleplay because it's too hard to get "in character". But I would like to write a story with a character of my liking in it. At the time, I had great dreams about an interesting protagonist in an indie movie setting. She would have to be young, female, and beautiful and it would be a love story. Except that wouldn't be very interesting, so it would be more cool if she was a lesbian. No, wait... A lesbian hermaphrodite. Now that's really indie movie.
As an aside, I got inspired slightly by this idea when I saw on the Audition page of the member's site. There is a question that asks, "What is your gender?" I was surprised when there were three choices: "Male", "Female", and "Male and Female". At first, I thought, "Wow, Vanessa sure is progressive--she even has an option for intersexed people." But I think that she meant "you and a significant other" in retrospect. But to make sure, I wrote to Vanessa asking if she meant a dual-gendered fursona that sometimes shows up on furry sites. Since she didn't write back, I am guessing that Vanessa found the Doug Winger-type humor a little too much to handle.
Regardless if the character Kasumi was a hermaphrodite or not, I had a great background. Raised in a strict conservative family, has guilt over her sexual feelings, hides her true self from everyone. But sadly, like most of my stories, that's where it all fell apart. As I began to write, it felt less and less authentic and harder to tell where the character would go. Would she speak to Dr. Kommy about getting a "cure" for her sexuality? (Which the good doctor would obviously tell her that there's nothing wrong with it). Would she sneak out in the middle of the night to visit an open-minded female prostitute? If she did, would she feel guilty about it afterwards or acknowledge her sexual identity? It was very hard to keep the story feeling authentic and not silly and cliche.
The part that really bothered me was that the only parts that I could write well were the dirty sections. It was really easy to come up with great ideas for kinky, graphic sex. I think that Kasumi ended up having so much sex that it would have been easier if she just stopped wearing clothes. I was hoping to aspire to writing greatness, not Penthouse Letters, so it kind of bummed me out.
Anyway, I just wrote this because overall I found it slightly amusing. Not too many people angst over stuff like this.
Ego: Do you think that Kasumi would kiss on the first date?
Id: I wouldn't even call it a date unless second base was involved.
Super-ego: Hey, stop being so disgusting!
