Felt this was important enough to go on both forums, remove if necessary.

I'm damn scared this idiot is gonna invite another 9/11 on us. I'm scared to my mortal core, guys. I have never been this scared in my life ever since I was locked in one of those children's mental instatutions for crimaly dangerous insane kids.

Fear is a control mechanism.. control your own destiny and don't be afraid of things you have no power over.

That's about as political as I'm gonna get though. Smile

I find the clip very ironic and appropriate. The animation was made in 1970 and after the political turmoil of the civil rights riots, probably the reason for the song. Personally I cannot see Obama bringing any more destruction then Bush.

Well, I'm also worried how he plans to make funding for people who can't work (My apartment is full of mentaly and phsyicaly disabled and elderly, and we still barely make due with what we geat each month) even worse. McCain at least wanted to try and improve the problem, but instead of him, we have a greedy power monger in office. Maybe my older brother's right. Maybe the US really does only have 4 years left to live. I don't like agreeing with that, so all I can do is hope Obama and Bidin's stay is as short as possable.

As a side joke, yesterday I joked to my dad if you swap some letters around, you get Obama Bin Laden.

Since "safely" discussing politics is somewhat the equivalent of herding cats through a field of land-mines, I won't go too far into my beliefs. But what I will say is that a certain author, of a book that's name bore the title of a certain year, has been startlingly accurate in his predictions.

I don't like it any more then you guys. I didn't go over to Iraq too see my country turn into a socialist state. If I didn't have 3 years left I would resign from the national guard. *Sigh* ah well at least I voted and that gives me the right to bitch, excuse my language. That goes for everyone. As long as you voted then you have to right too say what you will. if you didn't vote...shut up and drink your Coce...

In regards to those who chose not to vote, I do remember a quote that, in my opinion, holds true in this situation:
"There is no entity in the world more dangerous than conscientious ignorance."

Didn't realize we had so many right-wingers in here... I'll just take a cue from other folks and not get involved in talking politics, except to say that I'm glad someone I voted for finally got into freakin' office, and that now's the time for the President-Elect to live up to all that hope and aspiration.

...he should have gone for the "Sad Grandpa"...

Perhaps I should have added commentary to my original post. First, I am an Obama supporter. Second, I placed the link to the 'Rhyme and Reason Reign Once More' song as an ironic musing on what the almost messianic status Obama has garnered amongst his more rabid fanbase. The song almost perfectly illustrates what the hardcore supporters expect to happen practically on day one of the Obama Presidency.

I am sorry to hear of your circumstances. I have an inkling of your troubles, my mother was disabled and very ill towards the end of her life and we had to nurse her at home.
But I must say give the man a chance. It may turn out for the good, however in the present economic climate where would any president get the money to increase spending?
The banks are sucking up billions of Pounds/Dollars of tax payers money and then awarding themselves bonuses for fucking up the economy with our money! (Please excuse my anglo-saxon)
Three hundred billion, how many hospitals, homeless and low income families would that support? Mad No, give Obama a chance and if he does not deliver the promises he makes then tick the other box at the next election.
I' sorry Shadow I have not read your story yet. But I will I promise Very Happy

No need for the commentary, I sort of understood all of that right away. Spot-on choice with the song, by the way.

Well, what happens will happen. If the world is headed for being like 1984, then I don't wanna live to see it. I'd rather be dead than live in a world as mentioned in 1984, when loss of the individual and freedom of self (Privacy is a HUGE thing too) is taken from you. Maybe I have jumped the gun a lot, but Obama should shape up if he's going to keep his word when he won over the US.

Whatever, the man's in office, and right now I don't see him doing so well with the lack of experience he has compared to others. At least I still got Bon Bon, and more importently my story, to escape to when reality is too much. And belive me, I whole heartly plan to finish Path of Darkness and publish it.

Come on Shadow, Obamma will don't gonna be that bad.

But he has some big problems now. Irak, afganistan, etc. then the few 100 biljoen dollar gild the US has, etc etc.

But maybe it is good that he doesn't has so much esperience, he maybe to fair and honorable than mcain.

If Obamma is fair to his people than no one in the sennaat will question him.

and if you want away from the US than you can come her in the Netherlands. We have some non used buildings how can be rebuild to living area's.

Although I may not agree with the outcome, I understand that the purpose of this topic is to celebrate Obama's win, and, if that was your decision, then I wholly respect that, and offer my congratulations to those that chose in his favor. Like Voltaire said, "I may disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

Silly men. This would have been better off in the General board just below this one. You forget that Pleaure Bon Bon is hosted in Italy, and although it may connect with the fact that many foreign leaders want to meet with Obama right away, this really doesn't deal with Bon Bon or its story and characters.

We just need someone to draw an anthro version of Obama. Then it'll be okay. Razz
