What about "tail wagging"? I get BAD images thinking about that. _________________ ♥ To be forgotten is worse than death ♠ |

Though, in a furry community, it could be seen as a rude gesture. Going around pulling people's tails and sarcastically joking "Got a piece of tail" _________________ The suspense is killing me. I hope it will last. |

This, of course, is not to be confused with chasing your own tail. Though that is always amusing to watch. _________________ "Doktor! Are you sure this will work?!" "HAHA! I HAVE NO IDEA!" |

I can't help myself but I had to image Chessy doing this ^^ It would look like a fluffy purple fast spinning roundabout/rotary (my translator gave me both words) _________________ click here |

You both act as if it's a bad thing. That most certainly is not the case here, at least, not as far as I can see. And I can see pretty far. _________________ Silentium est aurum |

Chasing your own tail is not a bad thing. It's adorable to watch.
Back to the subject of tails. Whatever tail a woman has, or even if she has one or not, does not make a difference to whether or not I like her. However, I do tend to prefer ones that are rather more prehensile. The only ones I've actually come across in my experience so far are those of tigers and lizards, both types long and slender, with the ability to do rather.. intimate things. My own tail included. _________________ Wow, sarcasm! That's original. |

Maybe you should hope for a lady lemur or kinkajou then, Tadelesh... they are quite prehensile-tailed |

I'm perfectly happy if she doesn't even have a tail though, it's just like an added bonus if she has a rather lovely one. _________________ Wow, sarcasm! That's original. |

Lemurs do seem to be another favorite to members on FA, or at least ones I've run into.
Symphony, I think most tend to steer away from monkeys given their closeness to humans. _________________ The suspense is killing me. I hope it will last. |

I've been wondering about this actually. I'm not sure how I feel about monkeys in furry myself. If I hadn't seen any anthro monkeys, then I might say that they could be perhaps look too much like non-anthro monkeys. But I've seen a couple and I didn't really think of them so much differently than regular anthro characters. But they aren't exactly my favorite species for anthro characters either. _________________ Constance Mayflower's bio

It's been my personal experience that many people shy away from monkey furries because of their hand-feet, for lack of a better term, and the so-called "puckishness" of their face, as well as their closer than most resemblance to humans. _________________ Silentium est aurum |

I say "to hell with that, bring on the monkeys!!"
Seriously, monkeys freakin' rule... I'll never understand why folks freak out about some simians having opposable thumbs on their feet, it just sounds darn useful to me. Same with prehensile tails. And the only reason lemurs are so bloody popular instead of monkeys is because they have pointy, canid-like muzzles that furries seem to love to death.
Screw that, I'm gonna start drawing tons of anthro-monkey art now, just to make up for the terrible lack of it! Now I just need to find myself a scanner...
[Special Note: JohnnyPsycho was born in the Year of the Monkey, and takes any criticisms to monkeys and simians in general as personal insult... I'm just wacky that way] _________________ Johnny's Fanfics (including Sureshot! A Bon Bon Tale)

You'll get no argument from me, Johnny. I've never really understood it either, why people shy away from monkeys. Personally, I'd love to have feet like theirs and a prehensile tail, so long as I could make them inconspicuous by wrapping the tail around my waist or wear shoes. As much as I'd love them, I would'nt want to freak people out with them while walking down the street. _________________ Silentium est aurum |

I concur. Hmm, that reminds me of the movie, Aeon Flux. One of the characters in that literally had hands for feet. _________________ Wow, sarcasm! That's original. |

Kisandra.

Agreed, but it's an unfortunate fact that differences are not always welcomed or even tolerated and, considering the many people who do not appreciate simian folks' highly dexterous toes, it may be in the best intrest of everyone to conceal them at times. _________________ Silentium est aurum |

I'm not a monkey fan, myself. But I think one big stumbling block is that anthro monkeys or apes tend to look disturbingly like the nastier old racist parodies of Africans. And that thought is a big turn-off to me. _________________ "Doktor! Are you sure this will work?!" "HAHA! I HAVE NO IDEA!" |

I wonder if the movies and then the remake of Planet of the Apes has anything to do with the decline of anthro monkeys?
Though, fear not Johnny, I've seen some folks do a good rendering of them. If anything, you could consider monkeys one of the few true furry. Having so many human characteristics, the only thing you need to add to them is a bit of personality and speech and you have yourself a furry character.
So settle down ya big ape. *Gives him a bump with her hips* _________________ Oh, I'd tell myself

I don't know about that. I liked Ari in the remake
I believe that I've read somewhere that a sex scene between the main human guy and Ari was actually planned in the remake, but that it was dropped due to concern about how such a scene would be recieved by the audience. _________________ Constance Mayflower's bio
