 We'd just have to make another one, using standard currency until it's done. Of course, we'd also be puzzled about why someone would be so stupid as to steal an useless bone coin.
 Mind you, in ancient times ancient platypi had to toss other stuff, since "standard currency" wasn't so standard at all: you know, sticks, fishes, clams, whatever. That's why the coin: fishes are better suited for eatin'!

 Not really, no. You see, platypi rather prefer the young whole, and a fumble can change that badly...
 Of course, if you mean FISH eggs or newborns, we tried that, yes: but seeing on what side a pin-sized fish egg landed is hell and a half...
