I don't think they're poodles... poodles have a pointier muzzle and curly fur, plus the tails of the twins look different. Heh... if not for the build and the fur pattern, I'd say they're Welsh Corgi, but then I'm not really sure.

Heh, thanks for the information, Vanessa! The pic for the "real life" Dalia looks like a spaniel mix of some sort, though I'm not exactly a "trained eye" as far a dog breeds (I only had two dogs growing up, and they were both mutts).

I'll post more info (including a link) of my story when I get it posted. I've once again succumbed to my "literary OCD" and am rewriting and adding a bit into the first chapter so that it ties in better with the second chapter.

I checked the link and noticed that there are also pictures, and not only stories. If you want you can post, together with your story, the pictures of PBB's characters taking them (or putting in a link) from the free area bios (for example Dalila and Ophelia). As for your fursona you can post your personal pin-up and for daisy you can post the picture of her bio, or the first picture of Daisy in the Strip Tease Theatre ( is the same) . Knowing the characters the readers will be more involved in the reading.

I've already submitted the first chapter, and right now it's just pending approval from site admins, i believe (which is normal, but I'm not sure exactly how long it will take, since this is the first time I've submitted a story on that particular site). I take my hat off to you Sir. Mere adjectives and adverbs cannot properly convey the sense of enjoyment I received from reading your story. I most eagerly await the next chapter.

Addendum: I especially like the switches between past and present. Always a nice touch, that.

You do realize though that there is no way that I can compete with works of this caliber. All that's left to me now is to retire and fade into obscurity. If everyone else here continues to produce writing this good, I'll be reduced to burning my rough drafts just to heat my tea.

Thank you guys for your comments, I appreciate it. I was afraid that it was too long (I never really learned how to keep stories short and simple, I'm afraid), but so far I haven't heard any complaints about it.

And by all means, don't give up on your writing, Xebulon! I love everyone's stories that have been posted in here, and I'd hate not being around such a creative atmosphere.

I'll have to print it out, becuase my laptop won't last long enough without my power cord. I'll try and read it and get back to you about it, but by the sounds of it, it'll be a great piece.

I'll have to start my writings up again too, though it may be a week or two Vanessa. I've gotten very busy over here, for we are in the last few months of my deployment. Hopefully, more free time will open up towards the end so I can put out more goodies for everyone.

*grins* Finally finished. Not bad at all, Mr. Sureshot. Though I was somewhat shocked that the beloved Daisy did not make an appearance at all. I can definitely see you writing more chapters now, if only to make that happen at last.

I also found the ending text interesting to read and that I think I read it all before finishing your story. Always nice to learn a little something new.

As for kommy, don't worry about Daisy, she's pretty much the focal point of the entire second chapter... in fact right now I'm planning on "Mr. Sureshot" not making an appearance in the second chapter until the very, very end. I sort of wanted to build up Daisy's appearance in the story a bit (especially since I wasn't sure what her background was until Vanessa said something, which at that point I had already been most of the way through the first chapter).

As for the ending text, call it my overly fine attention to detail, but I sort of felt it would be easier for readers to understand the actions and motivations of characters if they better understood the world and time-period in which they lived. It's not even a "Native American thing" (though I suppose I did feel somewhat obligated to offer the information), I just enjoy learning about history, and lately this story has led me to research the time period more. So far, of what little I've written of Daisy's chapter, there's already some cultural notes on the old Texas cattle-drives and the Temperance movement.

Again, I'll let everyone know when I complete the next chapter. I promise there will be a bit more "action" in the next chapter (in more ways than one).

Also, Vanessa, I hope you're happy with the couple of pictures I posted. I already got some nice comments about them, so hopefully I can lure some more folk over here without looking too much like a "salesman".

Johnny, I did'nt want to say anything right away but now that some time has passed and you've gotten a number of good reviews, I noticed something, in your story, you hair color is described once, as black, but when I look at your fursona, it's distinctly brown.

In my own mind, Johnny's hair color matches my own (as near to jet black as possible), and his fur is also a bit darker than shown in the comic. It's a simple matter of a difference between my own imagination and the color palette that Vanessa chose for him when she drew him. As far as I'm concerned Vanessa's version of Johnny is perfect, and I wouldn't dare change a thing. Besides, his pony-tail is a dark enough brown, and I personally didn't really distinguish much of a difference between dark-brown/brunette and black hair anyway... I figured maybe my fursona had spent so much time in the sun in places like the badlands and the deserts of the American West that his hair got sun-bleached anyway...

As for news about the next chapter, it's been some slow going (been sort of busy with other things this past week), but I think I should have something ready to post this week... maybe Wednesday, but more than likely Thursday or Friday (mind you, I am horrible about keeping up with deadlines, but I want to keep a momentum going with this story)...

Well, I just found out I'll be going back on internet detail again this week. Which means I'll finally be able to get online for 8 hours at a time.

Also, My power cord came in, so I'll be back in action folks. I almost feel like Jynx with the internet withdrawl.

Don't worry too much about your wording Johnny. You did a great job. The only down side I can see coming from it, is how many people around here who are gonna take even longer now to post their stories because they're burying their muzzles in books trying to find the right words.

I myself will have the time to type Labrn's story, and I'm working on one I was doing awhile ago for Vanessa.

I'll also try to get back into sketching, and now coloring. Any of the ones I already have posted anyone want to see colored? or shall they remain sketched?

Another thought just ocurred to me. With Stone being a north american badger, he's likely a native american as well. Wonder what tribe he'd be part of?
