just wondering - why is this forum not set up so that us users can PM each other?

...and if everyone thinks it is a good idea, do you think that it would be possible in the future??

- what does everyone else think about this?
i was just thinking - if there was a message or something we wanted to communicate to each other without everyone reading it, PMs would be the way to go... Smile

I think it would be a cool idea, however I bet they don't want people to get spammed by it. I know I used to get alot of junk from like just regular forums, also might cause a problem for Alley with everyone PM'ing her instead of asking a question on the forum but she could probably block everyone's and then let it be specific for the user's if they want to use it or not.

I probably wouldn't mind it, if it got out of hand with spam messages then I'd just turn it off ya know.

I think Rick has already answered to this subject j3a! Wink If I remembered well it's to take out the possibility to exchange password between people. And like Zombie said before, I suppose everybody here ... and more would communicate with Alley by PM instead of the forum! Very Happy

i'm sure you guys are right about not using PMs for sharing passwords, which i guess is a good thing so users can't abuse Alley's site...

and with the spam issue and PMs to Alley's inbox, i'm sure that there would be some blocking going on...

dam, there sure are a lot of cons to the issue Confused

it's too bad there are so many people out there who can mess up a good thing because they can't be honest or are looking to make a buck or something... Evil or Very Mad

Not to mention Spammers advertising their viagra pills will be spamming your PM boxes. Smile

Easier for us to remove the ones in the public view. Harder to remove the ones in people's PM boxes. Just imagine the storage space.

We custom removed the PM feature for these reasons you guys stated here.

You guys can always PM Alley using the listed email address in her members area.
