Sorry about you Depeche Mode fantasy, Alley. Maybe it was a good thing. They would have tried to sex you up... like I would. Shocked

Thank goodness for family saving the day.

Great HEART entry. Too bad about the family emergency. It's funny how life works sometimes. You can plan out something so well and in advance, think of how to handle every contingency should something goes wrong and POOF, life happens. We've all been in the same situation before: do something we really want to do or dropping everything because our families needs us. You ask youself what you should do but really there is only one choice to make: family comes first. And the choice was not even close when you really think about it.

Anyway, it's DM's loss. Very Happy I'm pretty sure if they have any straight guys in the band, at least ONE of them has seen you in Playboy. You said that you're just one of their crazy fans. That maybe true, but none of their fans looks like you!!! woot

Hey, that's MY job!!! Wink Laughing

BTW, reading through the journal, you mentioned you and your cyber buddy discussing Depeche Mode, girls and whatever. First of all, I thought that I was your cyber buddy ( Crying or Very sad ) and two, you discuss girls and whatever. What about girls, Alley? And does that tie in with the "whatever"? Hmmm. Very interesting. Curious

Was it 'black celebration' the tape you found ? I saw them in concert a lot of time (I know them from the 80's and the single 'people are people') and I'm going to see them again in the beginning of july. They do european festivals. Despite of the age, they're still very good on stage. Dave Gahan still moves like young man! Laughing No chance to meet them but if this happens, I know what to ask! Wink

have also been a fan for a while - the song that got me hooked was "personal Jesus", but i love the entire Violater album - one of the albums i keep in my truck at all times!
sounds like i missed a good show, orange... had the chance to see them once a while ago, but as with Alley, one of those darn family members had to change my plans... Rolling Eyes

Violator has a painful majesty to it. One of the best albums of the last 20 years.

An excellent band to see live still ( being european i still get the chance now and then .. )

Indeed j3a, I was a little disappointed by the 'exciter' tour five years ago. I thought the furious concerts of the beginning of 90's were over. But I saw them in the beginning of this year for 'playing the angel' tour and that was great. After the album exciter, I thought they were out of the band. You know, Dave and Martin went out their project album solo. I saw Dave Gahan in concerts with his album "paper Monsters' and he really felt liberated he played lot of DM songs during his set). I supposed their escape was salutary for the band. Anyways, the fans are still there and crazy! Wink

And yeah violator, songs of faith and devotion are on my fav' lists too! Very Happy
