HI,
After speaking to some of you in my chat room...I've discovered that some of you didn't know that organic cotton existed. Also J3, wanted to know what site he could shop at for eco friendly healthy trendy cool clothes for men. MT wanted to know where he could shop for organic undies for me as a gift. Well, Here are some wonderful sites that I've found...that carry certified organic cotton and have good environmental practices with a sweat shop free practice.
http://www.loomstate.org They have great jeans for guys and chicks!
http://store.americanapparel.net/women-organics.html For great organic cotton thongs! (MT, I would need a size 3 since they shrink a size)
http://www.sevenplanet.com/shop/sameunderneath-eco-friendly-apparel This site has amazing cool looking clothes for a reasonable price. The clothes are for men and women and are very stylish. Also their clothing is made with bamboo and organic cotton.
For good natural products...that takes all the guessing out of it, Aubrey Organics has a complete line of hair, skin, home and beauty products. They even have a special line for men, including shaving cream, lotion and etc. You can get their products at most health food stores or on line.
http://aubreyorganics.com/
All of Aubrey Organics products are 100% natural and not just because it says it on the bottle but because you can read the ingredients in the list and know that their products are all safe/healthy to use.
So if anyone would like to get me any bubble bath, body wash, body sprays or any thing like that for a gift....now you know where to get it
When looking in the list of ingredients in other products you think might be good products....look for ingredients that end with "paraben" as well as others. I can't tell you enough...how many products I picked up because the bottle said "natural" or "organic" or even "paraben free" but in fact I found that the product was NOT natural and was NOT paraben free. There aren't any regulations for products....like there is for food yet. For food....if it says it's organic.....than it is.
I hope you've found this info helpful.
Happy Shopping.
XOXOX

Hopefully, they'll have the sheer see-thru or crotchless stuff in the g-string or thong style. There is no way I'm sending you any grand mama panties if that is all the carry.
"The panties are in the mail" will be my new phrase of choice for 2009. _________________ In a perfect world, you get all Alley, all the time. |

Thanks J3.
Just make note...that sometimes not all the products in a clothing store/site are organic. You have to read what each item is made with.
I just got my very first bamboo hoodie. OH, I LOVE IT!!!! It is soooooooooo SOFT!
Something so simple is truly luxurious.
Hmmmmmm

I LOVE the Aubrey Organic products!
I've learned though.....that with natural shampoo...you might need to try out 2 different kinds of Aubrey shampoo's and conditioner's before you find the perfect one for you. Don't get discouraged if your first choice of Aubrey shampoo or conditioner doesn't work well with your hair. Try a different kind of Aubrey shampoo or conditioner. You'll find the perfect one....and you'll love it!
I use the Aubrey shampoo, conditioner, facial moisturizer and their bath soap in the pump for my hand soap although when that's all out...I'm switching to a Castille natural soap bar....because there's less energy wasted to produce the packaging. For body wash or soap bar I suggest using the Castille natural soap bar or the kind that's in the big bottle. It comes in different essential oil scents....which have a nice strong scent of natural goodness. Plus you can use it for many other uses as well. The bigger the bottle, the cheaper you really get it for.
I now also use Aubrey's cosmetics too!
Toothpaste is another item to really give it some good thought. You want to stay away from Sodium Laurel Sulfate or SLS. Make sure you look at the ingredients listed and not just go by what the bigger words say....on the tube or box. I picked up a toothpaste the other day and it said in BIG words...SLS FREE and I read the ingredients listed and it had it listed in there!!!! UGHHH I was SHOCKED.
I just found this super cool toothbrush at the health food store. When you are ready for a new one....all you do is replace the bristles by popping out the bristle head and inserting a new one. This is REALLY cool...because you can purchase a package of 3 replacements which is for the price of 1 new toothbrush. This means you get 3 new toothbrushes for the price of 1....plus you reuse the important part of the toothbrush....and save a lot of plastic from being dumped into the landfill.
For deo...I use the crystal stick that is in a purple holder. It works great for me. I haven't tried Aubrey's deo....but I'm sure they have good ones? I know Aubrey now has a Men's line of skin care.
Good thinking with your thoughts on switching over.
If anyone would like a recipe for an All Purpose Spray Cleaner that is totally natural and safe to use on any surface, let me know. By mixing the stuff up yourself....each bottle comes out to around .19 cents. Compare that price to your local store's top brands.
Chemicals in cleaning supplies is such a big problem in our own homes. So many people think they are doing good by using bleach, disinfectants, anti-bacterial soaps and etc....but they are not. They are only making people sick internally...without them even knowing or realizing. This is ESPECIALLY bad for children to be around. Did you hear what happened to John Travolta's son, Jett? He had a health problem/condition that the parents believe was caused due to obsessive cleaning when the boy was young. John Travolta said that he just really wanted everything really clean for his son. It's a sad story. I hope EVERYONE switches to all natural cleaning products...but again....you must read the labels and make sure that the products that you are purchasing or using....are completely natural. You will know because if they are....then you will know what the ingredients are...that are being listed. As soon as you....never heard of it or can't pronounce it....then that's a sign. I recently switched from Seventh Generation laundry soap to one that is completely natural. I though Seventh Generation was because they are so big on the planet and yada yada....but I decided to look at the ingredients list one day....just for the heck of it...and of course it had it there. Sodium Laurel Sulfate. I was SHOCKED again!!! So I switched and I made SURE that I knew what each of the ingredients were on the list. It was a very small list...which is another good sign that your product is a good choice.
I use 1 all purpose spray that I make and is natural and is a natural antibacterial
I use a natural laundry detergent
I use coconut oil for moisturizer on my body and around my eyes.
I use Aubrey Organics natural moisturizer on my face
I use baking soda for bathroom cleaning
I use baking soda to freshen up my carpets and remove odor.
I use vinegar to clean mirrors.
I use water, vinegar and some Castille natural soap to clean my floors.
I use candles that are scented with 100% essential oils to make my home smell nice. I also have a simple recipe for a natural home deodorizer. I can give that to you too....if'd you'd like. I haven't tried it out yet but I want to.
If you think about it. I really DO save ALOT of money by going the natural route! Those other popular store brands are so expensive for each bottle of this or that. They say this one is to clean this and that one is to clean that. Give me a break! All you need is some baking soda and vinegar really. All the other extra bottles and brands are such a waste to your pocket and on your health.
Anyway....I hope my info helps you out
p.s. Also, since your home is always releasing formaldehyde in your home's air from carpets, base boards, furniture, drapes and any kind of MDF...it's a good idea to get plants that remove this toxic stuff out of your home. I have a list of plants that remove this stuff from your indoor air. If you'd like this list....let me know. _________________ xoxoxo

Good MT! Do it for your health and your loved ones health too....
Oh one more thing....I forgot to mention that, John Travolta's son has passed away just recently due to a seizure he had...which was something that he usually experienced due to his health problems that were caused by the obsessive cleaning his Dad did when he was a small child. That syndrome is called, The Kawasaki Syndrome.
This non natural cleaning product thing....is serious stuff! _________________ xoxoxo

I know Aubrey Organics has a 100% natural hair dye... They have a dark brown and a mahogany.
There is also...
Tints of Nature http://www.tintsofnatureusa.com
The Henna Company http://www.bytheplanet.com
Eco Colors http://www.ecocolors.net
These listed brands are the best ones that I know of.
Personally, I have not purchased a 100% natural hair dye yet BUT I've been wanting too!! I want to get one and bring it in for my stylist to use on me.
I'm totally off of bleach now!!!!!! I am ANTI bleach for anything!

Oh, can I also add that....from an environmentally friendly perspective....digital purchases are the best types of consuming simply because there is no packaging that needs to be produced or be "thrown away". Also, you don't have to ship anything....therefor not polluting/using up oil and gas. There isn't anything "toxic" being used to create your "digital media entertainment".
DIGITAL MEDIA ENTERTAINMENT is the best eco friendly way to spend your money on....when you feel the need to indulge.

So I've been testing all kinds of natural deodorant to move away from the toxic chemical stuff. I think my arm pits are still adjusting to being able to breathe and not clogged up by chemicals. I never gave it any thought, but I'm just finding out that the reason anti-perspirants work so well is because they block the pores. I mean, the reason why you sweat is because your body is trying to cleanse itself or regulate the body's temperature and here we are putting chemicals under our arms to prevent this natural process.
Gonna try Burt's Bees herbal deodorant next. I'm not doing any more anti-persperant because they clog the pores and prevent them from doing their natural function.
Alley, if you know of any good natural deodorants.....the man-worthy kind, share the knowledge. _________________ In a perfect world, you get all Alley, all the time. |

MT, you are totally right about the chemicals that regular deo has and the fact that they clog up our sweat glands. Did you know if our bodies are unable to sweat/the pores are unable to breathe.....we can die? I know we are just talking about arm pits but seriously....though...why should we do something that is not allowing our body to release toxins naturally?? That is another reason why applying baby oil to our bodies is very harmful. It acts like a plastic coating that does not allow our skin to breathe.
MT, did you ever try the Aubrey kind? How did that work for you? Try the brand name, Queen Helene (Vitamin E deodorant stick). You never want an antiperspirant. _________________ xoxoxo

Thanks sexy. I will try that next after I test Burts herbal stuff for a week. I looked for Aubreys stuff when I was at whole foods but they didn't have so I got the Burts one since it was stocked. Looks like I may have to order online for that. So far, I've tested 4 and none really work effectively. _________________ In a perfect world, you get all Alley, all the time. |

Ordering on line is better though....because think of it like this.....your goods are carpooling with all the other goods that are supposed to be delivered to your area anyway. It's better to have 1 truck doing the driving than to have lots of different vehicles driving around shopping. Plus many places offer free shipping or great deals/sales.
A great site for healthy non toxic eco friendly shoes are: http://www.simpleshoes.com
If you are looking for some summer flip flops.....you have to get them there.^^^^
Also a great water purifier I found that removes many many contaminates is the stainless steel Berky water purifier. That one has a charcoal filter and does not require an outlet to purify. I also love the fact that it's stainless steel...and not plastic.
HAPPY HEALTHY SHOPPING! _________________ xoxoxo
