Since we've talked about the lack of membership and participation I've come across a website that deals in furry dakimakura(lit. hugging pillows or better known as love pillows). My aim is to hopefully have the pillows promote the site by using some of the characters from PBB but I need to ask people to vote(need to see if people would buy one or think it's a good idea to begin with) And to have Vanessa give her blessing on this if the majority of people like the idea(She's the creator and besides,the company won't print characters owned by other people without permission).

I believe you're referring to having Yutaka Yumi do plushies of the characters.The difference is that the plushies were geared for the Royals and possible usage of the chars. from the comic in various sizes and they weren't geared to promote the site itself.

Well, despite that, I actually think this would be an excellent idea. Some of the girls in the comic are definately ones I would love to cuddle with. I'm sure there are those who feel the exact same way.

I actually visit a place called hth studios, and they actually had a huge auction for a set of dakimakura of one of their characters and they sold very quickly.

Just to let you know, the idea could'nt have come at a better time. From what I've seen, dakimakura are all the rage now, especially when you make initial releases of them in limited quantities, then, if it proves to be popular enough, then more people will be informed, thus making them more accessible to the public. Since its also a non digital item, people will be even more inclined to buy them as you can't really steal content like this per se.

It could work. One good idea, maybe, could be that royal members who decide to get one could get a special code for a discount on one of their choice, but the code is unique and only works once. If the site workers are fine with that... Idk this is just something in my head floating around in there.

Ok, the pillow could work in bringing in new members yes. I phrased it wrong. I left this out by accident. Anyone that stays and becomes royal would get the discount code after say 3 to 6 months. An incentive to stay maybe?

But I do see your point desertwolf. And it was my bad for leaving info out.

We could still have a position where royals who do participate in the dakimakura ploy would have to pay to have the art done, so as to not give them such a royal treatment.

@Tariel:A Royal member is somebody that has had Vanessa draw their avatar.As far as I know that is being phased out if it hasn't already so the discount would only apply to a small percent of people.



@Rune:Just from a business perspective the use of Royals may lead to a false sense of hope which is what I'm attempting to avoid as much as possible and top that off,the money from custom jobs goes directly to the dakimakura company and not Vanessa.

A slight misunderstanding. I meant loyal as in they can access all of the site. (So past the 30 day mark or in the case of the code 90 to 180 days, the equivalent of 3 to 6 months)

I get so confused sometimes between loyal and royal...

But anyways, whether or not there is a code, I'm still all for the idea.

I'd have to agree, Desert would have to get the basic concepts off the ground first before moving onto more advanced designs.

It's also due to the size and respect for the company's rules.Each Dakimakura is 50cmx150cm(20inx60in)and the characters can only be nude with nothing sexual really going on(gotta give'em something to dream about right? )

I would like to say that should I get a Dakimakura as either some type of reward or thanks that I'd pay for it.I believe that Vanessa has done way too much and deserves something positive in return.I would much rather die knowing I'm putting something back into this place and to help her rather than having been given something.
