I've got some duplicate Alley Cat photo cover comics that I'm looking to sell too. I'm not sure what's the best to do this. At first, I thought I'd make sort of an advertising post here like you did, in case anyone didn't have them all and was interested, but then it occured to me that this might be against the rules of the board, and besides since we're not supposed to exchange emails or addresses, how could you complete the deal? I really don't want to put them on eBay, because i've sold an AC comic there before and I can tell you they sadly DON'T sell as well there as they used to! Curious

I would also avoid selling on e-Bay. I buy alot from e-Bay but have never sold. Mainly because the fees are awfully expensive and 2nd I live in Norway and US buyers rarely buy from foreign sellers.

If anyone is intrested please come up with a bid, and we will see how we go from there.

Dude, it's just wrong. You can't use Alley's own message board, which she pays for, to try to sell your stuff. Items she is selling in her own store I might add. That's pretty low. Have some respect, and post your sale somewhere else.

Danie, it doesn't hurt Alley at all; the guy already bought the stuff in the first place and she already got the money for it. Who cares if he want to sell it; it doesnt hurt anyone.

The guy's obviously a fan if he bought it, so why not sell it on a site of other fans?

Sure it hurts Alley, for one thing it's bad advertising. People will infer from his sale that he is not happy with his merchandise, or that he doesn't cherish it. A new buyer looking for the same thing might have second thoughts if he should buy, thinking maybe he won't enjoy it as much either.

I know he has said that he is doing it for the money, but that's a hard sell when your talking about $500.

If I was selling my 1995 John Deere tractor, do you think I could park it in front of the John Deere dealer with a for sale sign? Not, he is taking advantage of this free advertising. There are proper places for this kind of thing. Alley's forum is not a flea market.

So Alley may not only be losing money on a new sale, but also other sales as a result. I'm sure Alley won't be bleeding over this one, but it still ain't right.

And if the guy is obviously a fan for buying it, then is he just as much not a fan for selling it?

Anyway, after re-reading that last post of mine, it seems I came over a little harsh. It was just a suggestion, it's not like I got any pull around here anyway.

The above activity is not allowed on this forum, since providing personal contact information to complete the trade is against forum rules.

I'm going to agree with Danie on this. Alley and Rick are also in agreement with this policy.

The OP (Original Poster) is profiting at the expense of Alley's traffic. I'd be very upset if I was Alley who just sold say a one of a kind collector's merchadise or limited edition item at say $200 (as an example) and somebody bought it and turns around using my own website to resell it at $1000. (That's why EBay takes a fee for transaction.)

There are other websites on the Internet that can be used to conduct this type of activity. Such as EBay or Craiglist. Assuming that the materials being sold are legit and tangible merchandise (meaning no reselling of Alley's members area).

It's great that there are fans buying collectibles and selling/trading collectibles. BUT this forum is NOT the place to do it.
