There's still something screwy going on with your forum, Martina. When I post I get a message that says "Web Site Not Responding". This only seems to be happening here, because I have posted in Alley's forum and in the EAG section of the forums and that message isn't appearing there. This is the second day that has been happening in your forum. Just thought I'd inform you of it so that you or Ron can possibly fix the problem.

Ron,
Since thursday I cannot reach the forum from my own computer.
Not direct (via www.eadultgames.com) and also not via Martina's site, which has a slitghtly different url.
In both cases I get the message :
... could not be found.
I also get no e-mail anymore when a message has been added to a topic I posted in (I had this feature on)
Any idea ?
It might be something on my computer/ISP too off course I have not checked that yet ..but as I also get no emails anymore I thought it might be something else. |

Hmm...
There may have been a temporary Internet routing glitches to our server location during the past few days?
Presently, the server is working fine and people have been posting fine lately.
I'll continue to monitor the server and the forums for any problems.
In terms of email notifications, check to make sure you have "Always Notify Me of Replies" in your profile. And that you didn't accidently click on stop watching this topic.
[Edit: I take that back, the forum does seem to be acting weird... I'll check up on this and see. It happens after you post. There would be a delay for a bit. And says Server Can Not be Found. But the posting goes through anyways, just doesn't return you back to the forum.]

That's basically what was happening to me. Very strange that I only encountered it in Martina's forum.
Supplemental: and it happened again just now.

Hey Ron!
You are correct it only happens when you post a message.
It seems like the server takes to long to reply after you enter a message. Maybe the processing of entering the data in the database takes too long.
If you renew your page the message is entered more then once I think.

We know what the problem is now.
We're looking into fixing it. It's related the process in posting to the server and sending email topic notifications.

Actually, there have been internet glitches goin' on this week or so. Unrelated to us. So if you get a page not found thats probably not our fault. Now the other problem with posting... that is due to us.
Its either a problem with the mail part of our server, or its something to do with the webserver. I'm looking into it and hopefully will have it fixed soon. I'm really sorry for the inconvenience.

Actually I think the problem wasn't related to us either. There have been lot of DNS poisioning attacks affecting a lot of dns servers. And our server was waiting for a response for certain email address domains. And those servers weren't responding correctly (usually, if a domain exists or does not exist, the response usually comes back immediately). But one or two domains that some forum users use (they were using a big ISP in europe), their nameservers were taking forever to respond...(not always, just sometimes). Fast or slow, it would get a negative response. Usually if it gets a good response once, our name server would remember the response, and not ask again.
Anyway.. that led to posting taking longer sometimes, and sometimes not. So i think that server is fixed now. I can now lookup the domain in question from our servers.

As I am from Europe and do have a big provider (Wanadoo) hat would explain the problem.
EDIT:
From my computer I can still not ping www.eadultgames.com
So I did write a message to my provider

I side with Bennie here. I have ISP Wanadoo also. Can't get on the forum from Martina's nor Jesse's members website. It's the DNS issue. Thanks to Bennie, he told me a way to pass this problem. I was looking for a forumoholic rehab center allready. 3 days without forum, that's like hell!

Well- a word of caution on using "proxy" webservice....
When you use proxy service like anonymouse, you're giving out your username and password to their website.
They can collect all your username and passwords and store them in a weblog. So be careful on what you do with the proxy services on the internet. Keep in mind- It's not secure. I suggest changing your password in the future once you can browse the forum regularly.

I know Ron. Bennie already said so. I justed wanted to check in and see what was happening. If there was a solution to the problem etc. Will have to wait for my ISP to clear problems with DNS.
