Chapter 3
Jacob continued to walk around town for a bit, wandering how he was going to find Alabaster Corinth’s daughter.
‘What was her name again... ah yes Maria. Heh cute name.’
Every now and then he would be stopped by some of the women asking if he wanted some company but he would politely decline their offers. He was soon in front of a massive building. He looked up and marveled at its size and beauty. He was so impressed by it he didn’t even hear a certain German Shepherd sneak up behind him.
“Its called the Delight Castle. Its a brothel and casino.”
He jumped and quickly turned around to face her.
“SWEET LORD! Don’t sneak up on me.”
She closed her eyes and giggled a bit before looking at him again.
“Sorry, didn’t mean to startle you.”
“Thats all right. Now, why are you following me?”
“Well I figured you might want some help is all. Besides I know my way around here pretty good. I may know where to look.”
‘Besides this will give me a chance to learn more about you,’ she thought.
Jacob pondered for a bit. He didn’t know his way around that was for sure and he could use the help. He sighed and nodded.
“Alright, I don’t have any clue where to start and since you seem to know this place I guess I could use the help. By the way, I never introduced myself, my name is Jacob Morris.”
She smiled at him and held out her arm. Catching on quickly he looped his arm around hers and aloud her to lead him.
“Now then Father Morris, if you don’t mind me calling you that?”
“Jacob will do thanks.”
“Very well Jacob, now follow me and I’ll lead you on a quick tour of this fine beautiful town.”
Slowly Kat lead him to different points of interests, from the Market, to The Outback Omnibus book store. All the while explaining the different places and the laws of BonBon and what would happen if anyone was caught breaking the laws. After a while they were back in front of the Delight Castle.
“I don’t know about you but after that walk I’m quite hungry. How about you Jacob?”
“Yes, I could have a nice meal but why stop back here?”
She giggled and lead him towards the door.
“Because the Castle has one of the best restaurants in town.”
As they made their way in, Jacob took stock of the situation. All around there was gambling. Slot machines, Black Jack and Poker were being played. He saw a sign that lead into a theater, he didn’t even need to guess what type of entertainment went on in there. Finally, all around there were beautiful women either talking with customers or leading up stairs.
‘Good lord this place reminds me of my time back in Baltimore,’ he thought.
‘I wander if I can jump to one of the Poker... GAH what am I thinking?’
“Umm lets go ahead to this restaurant you were telling me about.”
She smiled and lead him through the casino. A few minutes later a waitress sat them down and were looking over some menus.
“So Jacob, why are you looking for this girl?”
“Well I was going through New York when I passed by this elder gentleman, the girls father. They had a terrible argument it seemed and she just left without saying a word. He’s been distraught ever since. He looked everywhere for her but didn’t know where she went. Years later he learned that she had traveled to Europe. He was looking for someone to go and find her and bring her back home or at least let him know that she was alright. When I heard this I decided to help him out.”
“Hmm and he couldn’t come himself because...”
“He’s not a young man for one thing and he’s not in the best of health. He just got over a case of ammonia.”
She cringed and shook her head.
“Wow, well that would stop about anyone. So how much did he pay you?”
He chuckled and shook his head.
“Nothing, I saw he needed help and I decided to help him.”
That surprised her. Before she could say anything a waitress came over and asked if they were ready to order. They gave their orders and went back to talking.
“So then you’ve been traveling around trying to find this girl?”
“Yes and trust me its been a long trip. I’ve been looking for months going from one country to the next looking for her. I finally caught a break in Berlin. There a nice young lady told me that she came here. I’m hoping she’s still here. I’m a little tired of country hopping.”
Before she could say anything else their food was out. Jacob held out his hands to her. A little confused at first she gently took his and then he bowed his head and prayed. It was a short prayer and when he was done he let go and they began to eat. A little while later their food was done. Jacob took out his watch and saw that it was getting late.
“This has been interesting but its almost seven o’clock. I would like to get up early tomorrow and start looking.”
“Hmm sounds like a plan. Where are you staying?”
“I’m staying at one of the Hotels near the train station...”
“Well that won’t do. Tell you what you can stay at my place. I can assure you I want try anything funny, I promise.”
Jacob thought for a bit and sighed.
‘Well I don’t know how long I’m going to be here and it will save me some money.’
“Very well Kat, thank you. I’ll stay at the Hotel tonight then collect my things and head to your place in the morning.”
“Splendid.”
She reached into her purse and wrote down the street address.
Jacob paid for the meal and the two starting walking out. Jacob took a quick peak at the Poker tables and saw a young fox was having some problems. He was down to his last florins and he was bitting his nails and sweating. Jacob slowly walked over and the players looked at him. He just smiled and waved.
“I hope you don’t mind me watching?”
They just chuckled and one of the players said they didn’t mind at all.
Jacob looked at the young foxes hand. The fox was about to get rid of a couple of fours and Jacob gently stopped him. The other players didn’t seem to mind, after all they were sitting pretty good. In fact the pot was up to 300 florins. It would be a good haul tonight. Jacob whispered something in the foxes ear. The Fox looked at Jacob like he was crazy but since he wasn’t having any luck followed Jacob’s advice and threw his king and queen away.
The next two cards caught the fox by surprise and when all the cards where played out the fox beat them all with three fours and two fives. This caught the other players off guard. They looked at Jacob but he had already turned around and left before they could say anything.
As Jacob and Kat left the Delight Castle Kat looked at Jacob strangely.
‘How is it he knows how to play Poker? Jacob, what where you before you became a Pastor?’
Jacob was lost in his own thoughts.
‘I shouldn’t have done that but it was fun seeing their reactions. Hehe reminds me when I beat Jared in a game. Ah well, that was then.’
He bid Kat good night and said he’ll head to her place in the morning. The two parted ways and headed for a good night sleep.
A few hours minute ago at the Delight Castle
A young Husky had just finished her meal. She paid her bill and started walking out. Maria Corinth had a very good day. She had just turned in her badges and was now working for the Delight Castle. She was so pleased. All her hard work had paid off. After a few years she could retire and live comfortably. As she went through the Casino looking for any potential customers she saw a Wolf help out a young fox in a Poker game. He quickly took his leave and left with a lovely German Husky.
‘Hmm well I hope he has fun tonight, she’s quite pretty.’
Just then someone gently touched her arm and she turned around and sweetly smiled at the very same fox that had just won 300 Florin.
‘This is going to be a fun night for both of us,’ she thought.

 [superhero to the rescue!] Let me help you out a bit with correcting some mistakes, okiez?
1) to wander is to walk around - to wonder is think a lot
2) when I passed by this elderY gentleman
3) ammonia is a chemical - pneumonia is an illness
4) The waitress took their orders and they went back to talking.
5) Done with their delicious meal, Jacob took out his watch and saw that it was getting late.
6) I can assure you I wOnt try anything funny, I promise. [Even though we all know she totally wants to try something funny...]
7) Jacob paid for the meal and the two startED walking out.
8 ) A few hours/minute ago at the Delight Castle [which timeframe is it?]
