Usually it gets announced somewhere when there is a public simul for example on internet, this one was a "lastminute" simul, organized by a rather large chessclub in Amsterdam. So I wrote the organizers an email and I could play. In fact everyone can play but normally players of clubs are preferred, cos there ranking is known and they know the rules (and how to behave). Without ranking is ok too I think
In this case there was a small fee (about 6 dollars , 5 Euro) .
In fact her sponsor pays her to do the simul.
This afternoon there were 12 players, the max. number she plays is about 20 I was told by the organizer.
That same evening she played "chessdarts" LOL in Amstedam, as you are from England you might recognize the player 
He is not someone you overlook easily 
(This was a closed happening invités only)

Now I'm off to upgrade my PDA chess program - the new version has a "tutor" mode specially for dunces like me  |

It was just a funthing, but migt be played again next year.

Hi Martina !
The find out was not so difficult ...it was announced on the chessnewssite I regulary read. The fees are always small here ..sometimes it is free.
The Organizer/sponsor normally does most of the paying

Yes, i noticed the "Von Dutch" shirt, and thanks for the link.
hhmmmm, Maybe they should change the name "Pet" clothing line, to "Dog" clothing line
