|
|
I've noticed 2 main styles of RP posting going on, the style I'm more accustomed to being the written form, but I've also seen a script format becoming popular, namely among those RPing with several fursonas.
For those that may be confused, here's some examples:
Written:
It was getting dark as the figure walked the streets of Bon Bon, searching for one he could go with to take solace in their flesh and pleasures.
Script:
Sampleman: "Hey babe, have time for a loyal customer?" He asked the nearby prostitute.
Now, the script format is a little more useful for clarifying which fursona is being used, but in my opinion takes away from being able to read an RP thread more like a book.
The question is simple, which style do you prefer and why? I personally favor the written style, as I like writing and prefer being able to read through a thread as though it were a book. |

The written style is my preferred method. The script format seems too stiff to me and loses emotion. _________________ My Fursona

I use written style for actual Rp's, erotic or otherwise. I use script form for jokes, gags and non-serious jabs at myself.
For Instance...
*Chaos dressed as a chicken*
*cell phone rings*
*looks terrified* *hides in a dumpster*
*Col. Sanders appears, holding an axe*
Sanders: I know yall's hidin' here sumwheres!!

I'm a script user.
It was the first form that I learned when I joined PBB
It seemed like the best way to keep "Speech, Thoughts, and Actions" clear, separate, and organized.
I often add elements of Written form into my post from time to time, to help set the mood for the RP if a situation calls for it or if i feel that I need to be more detailed with my imagery.
Do I need to change my writing style? _________________ Dallas"Wildcat"Swagger--->Fursona |

It really would only be up to the person running the RP as to whether or not they have a big problem with it.
I remember doing an RP before where we had multiple characters. We would simply put the name of the character we were using and their location before the scene or actions they were in, or if both interacted, we'd put both names.
Example:
Decoy/Infirmary
He slowly began to regain consciousness from the exertion of effort spent in the danger room. He barely remembered teleporting to avoid the door before the war began around him. He had been beaten pretty badly, but at least he was alive.
Scree/Dining room
The large gargoyle was sitting alone, hoping to hear on the young man's condition. He missed the London rooftop he had called home, at least there he hadn't almost killed anyone.
God I miss that Rp... |
