So, my question is, while the main-line of those brew makers is total and utter blech, don't they have some mini-brews or whatnot that are good?)) |
Some of them do, Caroline, and yes, Shock Top is. The "Bare Knuckle Stout" by Anheuser-Busch is rather good in my opinion, though I've only seen it at Busch Gardens. While the Old Dominion Brewing Company (my local brewery) has gone downhill in the last decade their baltic porter is quite good. I'll even drink it warm. But the "big name" companies do own some smaller breweries that produce what I consider to be beer, or something closer to it at any rate. Like Bass ale. It's just not obvious most of the time for commercial reasons. _________________ I like old jokes. With them I know when to laugh. |

How on EARTH have I missed this topic? Goodness, I have been way too busy.
Both my character and my real-life self are huge fans of alcohol, although Ewan prefers hard spirits and I am thoroughly a beer man.
I believe that alcohol is to be consumed slowly and savored, so that one notices all the work that went into it. I view distilling and brewing as some of the finest arts in the world.
If it's whiskey, it has to be Irish. I find that Bushmills Black always treats me right, try it out. However, I just purchased a bottle from Japan called "Nikka from the Barrel" which came in on the recent whiskey release and it is FANTASTIC.
With beer, however, I find myself drinking from wherever its made. I will say I am a fan of blondes in particular, from Belgium or Germany usually. My typical pick up is a brand called Leffe. I am working to appreciate dark beers more. Do yourselves a favor, if ever possible try a beer called Hobgoblin or anything from Unibroue. They are fantastic.
ALSO! Do yourselves a favor, hunt down a bottle of both Mort Subite Cherry Kriek and Mort Subite Raspberry. These are fine Belgian beers brewed in with fruit. The first time I served it, I had to get the bottle to prove it wasn't champagne. _________________ Ewan's Golden Glass

Well, since the other Samuel didn't answer, I will. I'm not exactly one for drinking games, unless they're done in the MST3K style, where you drink every time something cheesy happens in a movie/book/whatever.
Drinking contests, on the other hand... |

I love MST3K. Best program ever, too bad the episodes are such a pain to find. _________________ My Fursona(updates occasionally) http://forums.pleasurebonbon.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7537

Now does Xebulon share your joy and love of alcohol, Xebulon? So if I'm going to head off to a bar, I should bring the big teddy with me? _________________ Oh, I'd tell myself

yes, Yes, YEEEEEEE.... waitaminute, what were we talking about again?
But seroiusly now, yes and yes. Xeb, the character, does share my own fondness for good alcohol and while he may not be the life of a party, he can be a good person to have along at a bar for safety reasons. It's not that he'd be trying to keep other men away from you, Mystic, he'd just make sure they were organized into a line and purchased tickets for their chance to try their luck hitting on you. _________________ I like old jokes. That sounds like a pirate's scheme. Mayhaps you should bring along the little teddy so the he can, ah, "help out"? (Read: steal every penny you make.)
Besides, for such a little guy Cap'n Blackwing sure can hold his liquor. |

My? Little? ... ... ...
Now that's funny!
Though I do resent the notion that I'd steal from a friend. _________________ I like old jokes. With them I know when to laugh. |

I was actually referring to me. Because wombats kinda look like a cross between a teddy bear and a mouse, and Mystic called you the "big teddy".
Gosh! Why do you have to suck the funny out of my jokes!? [/totallysilly] |

Yeah, I was actually kind of afraid you would, but I couldn't pass up the joke. It's a curse, I'm afraid. |

If I may be so bold as to offer a suggestion, perhaps wording it this way might clear up some of the confusion.

(bump)
Christmas is approaching fast as well as new years. This means hundreds of alcohol fueled parties and celebrations.
During the Christmas holiday season does your fursona (or you personally) change its drinking habits?
People do tend to indulge a little more during the holiday season, but I've also noticed that people also tend to get a little more adventurous with different tastes and flavors. Cinnamon, peppermint, cream, and chocolate flavored liquors seem to be a big hit this time of year.
Another change is people tend to buy more drinks that are severed hot. Irish coffee, hot Sake' ,and Adult hot chocolate to name a few.
Do you or your fursona fall into this category? _________________ Dallas"Wildcat"Swagger--->Fursona

No Changes in Max, when he celebrates, he gets drunk with his Mates.
Though on special occasions he may prefer A Tall Love Letter with lime _________________
