Ther is the Anime, His and Her Cercumstances (Or Karo Kano) that ends in a cliff hanger due to the fact that the original manga writer didnt like how it was animated so she didnt allow Ginax to make the 2nd session.

Since Pioneer (Geneon) quit distributing all anime in the U.S., the likelihood of you getting the CCS DVDs is getting slimer every day. You probably should order them now online if you want them or you'll have to look on Ebay for them.

As an aside, the TV series did not end with a fully conclusive ending, but it hinted at happier times. This is mostly because the manga itself is actually surprisingly short (Sakura in reality doesn't capture more than a dozen cards in the actual manga), and it ended also with a slightly vague ending.

To see the "true" ending of the series, then you have to watch the second movie. This is the conclusion to the series. Well, until the Tsubasa storyline.

If you're a real CCS fan, then you should know about Tsubasa: Reservior Chronicle and xxxHolic. Both the manga and anime are being released in the U.S. I've read the comics and this ruined the anime adaptations for me. To be honest, most anime are actually really watered down versions of the source manga material, so never read the manga and then watch the anime.

Well... if you're a real CLAMP fan then you'd know about those, and Chobits, Clover, Tokyo Babylon, Miyuki-chan in Wonderland, Wish, Angelic Layer, RG Veda, X, MKR, MKR season 2, and the fact that CCS is a huge parody of the whole Bishojo anime genre... let alone CLAMP making fun of themselves even.

But... for me, I never got into Tsubasaa or xxxHolic... because they kinda fall into the same problem I have with the later continuations of stuff like Tenchi Muyo and .//hack. The first season of both were pretty good... but the later ones just watered the story down more and more and more and more. Case and point, MKR has two seasons... and then ends. Azumanga Daioh has one long seaons... and ends. Both end kinda wispfully sadly, but... they are very good endings.

Don't get me wrong, I really like CLAMPs style... just... CCS makes for a good story on its own. To me, they should have never had Sakura and Li actually grow up...

I also have to disagree about manga / anime adaptations of each other. Two differet styles of media. You can have a good anime and a good manga... both, of which, complement each other, but both being independant of each other. Yeah, I know you can get bad adaptations of anime from manga, but you can also get really good ones too.

At least I only need vol 17 and 18, and the 2nd movie... so... shouldn't be that painful >_<

I've read several series by CLAMP, but I'm kinda iffy on the direction that Tsubasa took, I stopped reading it after the twentieth volume or so. But a lot of times the story line in Anime vs. Manga change because of time and or money consraints. I have yet to find a manga and anime that flow consistantly together as far as story lines go. For half the mangas I own I have never seen the Anime for them and the same goes for the opposite.

Should'nt this really be in General Discussion? Unless I missed the part where this became relevant to the world of Bon Bon. In my current state of mind, I would'nt be at all surprised if I had.

Jeezus, Henk... *facepalm*

Anyway, back on topic, one of my favorite anime series, Rurouni Kenshin, didn't have a definitive ending during its TV series run. The reasons why were a bit complicated, but basically were related to the fact that the TV series and the manga series ran at the same time. During the first two seasons of the TV series, in fact, they would have a large amount of one-shot "filler" episodes that followed side-characters as well as mini-arcs that were never included in the manga. The reason for this was both to add "filler" material for the seasons and to ensure the TV series didn't get ahead of the manga series. After the second season, which corresponded with the "Kyoto arc" of the manga, the series creator (Nobuhiro Watsuki) needed more time to finish the last story arc of the manga (called the "Jinchuu arc"), so the TV series producers basically created a whole third season of filler material to make up for it, intending on rejoining the manga's storyline in the fourth season. Unfortunately, this led to the series being cancelled by its network broadcasters, and the final "Jinchuu arc" never being animated (some of the characters, such as Tomoe and Enishi, only show up in the OVAs that followed the series, and their plotlines only partially touched upon). A "series finale" episode was never aired on TV, and was instead included in the VHS and DVD releases later.

Oh, and protip to anyone interested in watching Rurouni Kenshin: Watch the TV series first... the OVA series (called Samurai X in the U.S.) is amazingly good, but its art style and tone is much different from the TV series. I find that if someone watches the darker, more realistic Samurai X first, it tends to ruin the much more comedic, anime-styled Rurouni Kenshin TV series for them...

Thank you, Henk, but I have to politely decline that offer. I don't want to take any risk if the flv file has virus that will crash my computer. But, really, thank you. :3

Hey, Ms. Caroline, I found a webiste that has almost ALL the Anime show that a person could imagine.

The website is call Kumby.

Is it alright for me to post the website here in this thread?

This is getting further and further away from being about PBB, but since you posted I wanted to clear some things up.

CCS is not a parody of the bishoujo anime genre. It was insanely popular with little girls and I doubt any of them were watching Sakura because it was parody. In the original satellite broadcast, every week, they would show drawings sent in by children who were devoted fans of the show. Many were under 10. When they announced the final episode, many kids wrote in asking them not to cancel. But the truth is, there were no more stories to animate because the manga ended. After the final episode, NHK asked Junko Iwao, who is the voice of Tomoyo, to read a farewell statement to let kids know that Sakura was doing okay.

Tsubasa and xxxHolic are not true continuations. They are alternate universe stories, because CLAMP wanted to unify all of their manga into one universe intentionally. It is CLAMP's version of Crisis on Infinite Earths, and it's very significant. Personally I find them excellent, but to each their own.

Tenchi Muyo has a colorful story. In reality, only the first three episodes were actually done by the original writer and original director. This is why in episode four they insert a totally meaningless character, Mihoshi, because this shows Pioneer's shameless ploy to turn the show into a harem comedy. After the first series, the original director quit because he was disgusted by what Pioneer did to the show. At the time, Pioneer was on a downhill slide and they had no good shows other than their legendary shows of Tenchi Muyo and El Hazard. As a result, they spun off increasingly stupid sequels and spinoff shows until they effectively ruined both franchises.

As for .hack, the show was created to be nothing but a promotion for the .hack video games. Imagine if you turned on the TV and there was a cartoon called "World of Warcraft: The Reckoning" and the executive producer was Blizzard Inc. During the commercial break, there would be an ad asking kids to login to the Warcraft webpage ("but ask your parents' permission first"). There are laws in the U.S. to prevent this kind of exploitation, but Japan does not.

((Henk... okay Caroline's-Real-World-Avatar story time... I'm... actually not that into getting "licked"... I guess because just about everyone who has eaten me has only done so because they thought it would get me to go down on them... so... there wasn't much done to me, and... it more bothered me than anything. But... wow, does your libido rule you. Someone is in touch with his inner ID... Smile ))

((Kasumi, I didn't mean for my post about CCS being a parody to be mean... just that it was a aparody. I knew how popular it was with young girls, all the way up to high school girls actually, but... I guess to me it's a parody. Being a big Junko Iwao fan, I actually have a CD of Tomoyo's farwell... though I do like Megumi Hayashibara and Aya Hisakawa more

Um... okay, Galaxy Quest. If you watch it just by itself, it is a very good, comedic space opera... but if you're a big Trek fan, or just a big Trekey(sp?), you see a lot more of the movie making light fun of the whole genre. Galaxy Quest was awesome in that, while it teased you about being a Treky, it wasn't doing it in a vulgar or mean or snide or condescending way. It was more of a 'hey, I can't believe we used to rush home from school to watch it' kinda way.

So... if you look at a lot of the themes in CCS, Toya always being around Sakura when she was out, or Toya not being able to hold onto a job... his only job seemed to be to get a job before Sakura went somewhere, Toya being 5 - 6 years old because his birthday was on leap year, for as much help as Kero was he's also hugely selfish and a glutton, the fact that Sakura has a harem of people who love her, the fact that Sakura, a girl, has no idea about people who actually love her, the fact that Sakura has a new outfit, be it pajamas, street clothes, or something Tomoyo made, each time she goes out to do her Magical Girl thing... it was a parody to me. A fun, enjoyable, not mean, parody... but a parody.

So... um... I guess point being, I wasn't talking the show down, or saying the show was mean to other shows... just that I found it to be a good parody of the whole shoujo/bishoujo/shonon sort of manga/anime of the time.))

Yes it does, but if you don't like oral pleasure from someone else, what do you like then to receive?

Just so you know, people... Cutting Anime short is something most distributors do here in Italy. I heard how some series ended only through word of mouth, you know...
That said, I usually search for them... or download them if I can't buy them legally... or, failing that, I get the Manga.
Mind you, sometimes the Manga is wholly different from the Anime... sometimes better, sometimes worse, sometimes having nothing at all in common. But it's better than nothing...

This discussion makes me wonder what the PBB universe would look like if it was made into an anime film while keeping the characters more aor less the same anthro-wise.

first 18+ rating. Than some country's will for bit it because it's fantasy than they will try to close the site and try to get the artists and techniques behind bars for what kind of reason they can think of.

Hmm.I have seen a lot of adult anime that would not only be rated 25+ but would require certain "sensitive" individuals to recieve psycatric counseling after viewing them.I would think PBB would be a lot milder in that respect.
