I don't know if many people have noticed my distinct lack of activity here for the last couple weeks. For those who did notice, though, I thought I'd let you know why, and also let you know that I may be going on hiatus for a while again; we'll see.
I recently started a new job (on 30th March), which is longer hours and also further away than my old job, but pays more than double my old pay. So, that job is now eating into my previously large amount of spare time.
Also, I'm in the process of buying a new home. The family (three-bed semi-detached) house that I've been living in since I was a baby is being sold, and I'm buying myself a maisonette (a flat/apartment with its own front door). This means sorting out a mortgage and other paperwork, and I also have to go through 21 years' worth of stuff and sort out what I want to keep and what I want to sell or chuck out. So a lot of my spare time will go towards that.
So the new job and moving home mean that I will have less time for now to come here. Once I've moved home, I will have a bit more time again, but that likely won't be for another couple months.
Anyway, that's why I haven't been active here for the past couple weeks, and why I may be absent for periods in the near future as well. So yes, I'm fine, I'm just busy. Heck, the only way I managed to catch up today was by staying up all night. Thank goodness for Bank Holidays. _________________ Wow, sarcasm! That's original. |

Good luck to you, Tadelesh, and congratulations on the job and the new home. (if, indeed, congratulations are in order that you are moving.) _________________ Silentium est aurum |

Thanks, everyone. I've got a bit of a break today (though I should really be doing more sorting/packing).
I've been enjoying my new job. I get along really well with my new colleagues and went for some drinks with some people from work on Friday - something I don't really do. I feel I've been coming out of my shell a lot more since starting this job, though that may be partly thanks to a herbal remedy I've been taking that Sahtori recommended (I can't remember her name on here, so I'm using her dA name as it was on there that she recommended it).
We have a date to aim at for the move: 1st June. So in a month's time, if everything goes to plan, I will be living in my new home. Meanwhile, I need to spend more time sorting and packing than I have been, so today might be the last time before then that I post here (though I really hope not).
In other, unrelated and less important news, I went to Thorpe Park yesterday (a local theme park); had a great time, though got a bit sunburnt and only got to go on seven rides in about eight hours. I have an annual pass, though (that includes other theme parks owned by the same company), so I didn't have to pay to get in. They have some awesome rides there, including one that goes from 0-80 miles per hour in less than 2 seconds (or so they claim), and one that has a beyond-vertical drop (though the going up was actually more thrilling than coming back down, as you couldn't see where you were going - it was completely vertical and all you could see was the sky). The beyond-vertical drop ride is loosely based on Saw, and is apparently the first horror movie-themed ride.
In more unrelated news, I'm hoping to see X-Men Origins: Wolverine tomorrow. I've been looking forward to this movie for months, ever since I heard about it and knew that Gambit (who Tadelesh is largely based on) was going to finally be on the big screen.
Anyway, just thought I'd give everyone who actually gives a monkey's about me a brief (well, kinda) update on my situation. Take care, y'all.
P.S. Just read this through again and it sounds like a journal entry. Might c&p most of it and put it in my dA and FA journals.
P.P.S The experience of long long queues at the theme park prompted a spark of possible genius - seated conveyor belt-esque queueing, so you don't get tired of standing in a queue for ages. I've just not long ago submitted this idea to a BBC show called Genius where they broadcast some people's ideas/inventions. Who knows, I might get on it with my idea! _________________ Wow, sarcasm! Ah yeah, that's it. It does work well; I don't know if it's for migraines or not. It's tailor-made - you tell them your symptoms, they make up a remedy for you.
I will let you know, yes, but in the General forum.

Yeah, they always have something at the end of the credits. I don't always bother though; I can always do it on the DVD when it comes out. _________________ Wow, sarcasm! That's original. |
