As I've said before, Feingo's background is always adapting to the situation, or in this case era, that he is placed in. Since my history is very rusty, I found the list you offered me very helpful, and have come to this basic write-up of Cm. Ferintons background.
"Cm. Ferinton, who often thought himself too young to be placed with such a title, was sent over-seas from America, along with a company of 50 of his men, as "men on loan" for the French Foreign Legion in 1890. serving in both the first and second Franco-Dahomean wars in the French Third Republic. Feingo was a second hand man to General Dodds, set on the restrictions to take command over his men only. The first war was a quick, and for he and his men, quiet war. But, come the second war, such luxuries dissapeared. In the 1892 Battle of Dogba, The FTR was taken by surprise attack by Dahomean troops, and Feingo found himself losing thirty of his men, some of which he knew very well. But General Dodds, wanting everything to move forward quickly, instructed Feingo to take his remaining men and follow the retreating Dahomean troops to find out where they were going. This plan took a turn for the worst, as that night, while approaching one Dahomean outpost, they were discovered and captured. By the time General Dodds men came to free them, Dahomeans had tortured them all, and exicuted all but Cm. Ferinton and two of his men. These three were sent home, and all three put in for retirement. Since then, the two other men have commited suicide, and Feingo, before comming to Bon Bon, was seriously considering."
It's a rough sketch, but you get the idea. _________________ BonBon Spirits and Sidearms
