Now that the question has been answered, I'd like to take a moment and ask if there is any such thing as a useless topic? Besides spam, of course. _________________ "Doktor! Are you sure this will work?!" "HAHA! I HAVE NO IDEA!" |

If someone where to make a topic about, oh, say, toenails, would you still agree? _________________ I like old jokes. With them I know when to laugh. |

That would depend on what you talked about, concerning toenails. _________________ Silentium est aurum |

Well, for starters, have you ever noticed that when you clip your toenails they fly off in every direction but towards the trash can? Or the fact that they only stay bendy for about a day before they get too brittle and snap? Also, since they're basically a type of tightly woven hair, you'd think that shampoo and conditioner would make them shinier and more full, but you'd be wrong! _________________ I like old jokes. And have you ever wondered why you can only seem to store thirty-seven toenails at a time in any given container? Any more than thirty-seven and they start to mysteriously disappear, like the opposite of coat hangers or Tupperware. Hey... maybe they are the opposite of coat hangers! Yes, that would explain it! Since everything in the universe must be balanced by something else, toenail clippings must be the equal and opposite of coat hangers! Ashton, you've helped me to reach a greater level of understanding and enlightenment about the very nature of our universe! Do you know what this means?! ... Seriously, do you? Because I have no idea. Although, hmm... *begins to furiously scribble notes on the back of a cocktail napkin using a fork dipped in gravy* But where would we find someone willing to jump out of a cake shaped like a toenail? _________________ I like old jokes. That is all very interesting, Let us not forget to contemplate this one major fact as well then.
What about the left Sock, where does it go? does someone steal them or simply are they transported to Sockani 9 where they can flourish and and live in a true sockanoid way?
Also do people in the southern hemisphere loose the right sock instead of the left? the same way that water drains in the opposite direction? |

It has always been my opinion, and it has been agreed upon by several of my friends and family, that the common household washer and dryer, in fact, EAT THEM! That is why the seem to disappear without a trace. But in fact, there is a trace left by these sock devouring fiends. And it can be found......IN THE DRYER FILTER! The few remains of our beloved sock friends can be found in that simple filter. Look and see for yourself. But brace yourself, it can be a gruesome sight to behold. _________________ Silentium est aurum |

I have a different theory to present. We all know how space is rife with electromagnetic activity and spacial anomalies more so. What I propose is that rather than the demonic entities inhabiting all your household appliances devouring left socks (or for ladies one half of your matched undergarments) but rather that the static electricity of the clothes, combined with the rotational movement of the dryer create a rift to a pocket dimension populated entirely by the missing articles. And the greater dryer's rotation against the spin of the Earth can cause even larger pieces to disappear. _________________ I like old jokes. With them I know when to laugh. |

I don't recall mentioning anything about "demonic entities inhabiting all your household appliances", I was simply stating an opinion that states washers and/ore dryers have an appetite for socks. Now, to be fair, I'm not saying our household appliances are'nt possesed by some entity or creature, I'm just saying that my previous theory does'nt mention that possibility. _________________ Silentium est aurum |
