As some of you know, in Victorian age it was popular (especially among men) to tell stories of exciting...
..card games. >^^<

So I decided to ask if you had any interesting stories of your games.

Here's mine for starters:

I today had a pretty good game at the poker table.
And the last one was very exciting if I can call it. After about an hour or so of game I decided to play my last hand for the evening.

And what did I get?
Queen of Hearts, King of Hearts, 9 of Hearts, 8 of Clubs and Jack of Hearts.

I had a bet of 50.

I automaticly marked to discard the 8 of Clubs but I suddenly realized that I can have a Royal Flush Exclamation

I got pretty baffled, but I got back to myself and that it's just a game and I don't even have to bluff. So I just clicked Discard and got...

7 of Hearts! I ended up with $5230. (got printscreen to prove it)

I got a flush anyway, but Just a thought gives you shivers' huh?

Hope I'm not exagerating. (If so don't mind me. >^^<)

Your turn!

This is a really fun idea Idea , by developing it you could draw out of it the story of your character like Drake did.
I know that other members have described their characters as inveterate gamblers, it'd be nice if they could join this post with their experiences at the green table!

I'm really happy you like it! >^^<

I did thought about doing a short for you. (It was in one of those lost emails. BTW, did you receive my recent one? I never received any reply)

Anyway, it was about my character going into the Delight Castle Casino for a while to kill time(reason in the punchline). And sits by in the poker table.
And soon betty was alarmed about some unknown person drying up her account and as soon as she gets to notice, with no visible intentions to "redeem his winnings". So the game gets serious because of Betty's... "little goblin of greed". This woulnd't have much to do with open sex, but it's filled with punchlines and humor (estimated at about 6-8 pages).

I must say I'm not much of a gambler in real life, only games I play in Real Life are more about strategies (even those with regular playing cards). Your poker-game suits me well because it's more about estimating possible results and doing what the calculations state (as well as my inner instinct). I think winning over 15 000 in a bit over an hour's a good score >^^<

I'm waiting for your evaluation.

I'm not sure about this... I mean, I always thought it was only exciting when there are other people you have to outwit. No one ever talks about thrilling and exciting games of solitaire.

But my family is cursed by ill luck. We avoid gambling like the plague. Trees fall on our cars, the boat sinks (multiple times), we've been caught at sea in a hurricane, and most my family dies before 50. So I only gamble when I don't mind losing. Razz

First of all, sorry to hear that.

Second...
It doesn't have to be just about solitaire games, although I'd really want to hear someone getting a Royal Flush. >^^<

You can always tell us about other exciting/funny/increadible/disastress/unusall experiance including casino games.

Whatever you think that is worth telling us!

Also what you guys think about my short idea!?

Thats too bad Kommy. Sad

I find, my luck is either all there, or not there at all, so I always play without any fear of losing, though I still do.

The best hand I ever received was a Straigh Flush. I myself am not much of a drinker, but I was playing at a friends house for the first time for actual money, not just playing with chips, but the dealer had one condition. Since he was drinking, everyone else had to as well. Well, it was on towards the end of the game night, and I had gotten drunk for the second time in my life. Laughing I was a mess because I could barely keep my head up. I was dealt a great hand (6,7,8,9 of Hearts) I almost wondered if they had opened a new deck on me or something. So, laughing to myself, I threw in the junk card, and sure enough got a 5 of hearts. I belted out laughing, and I couldn't hold a poker face. Everyone folded, except the original dealer who made me drink in the first place. He thought I was just being foolish, or bluffing, so he went all in on a pair of queens. BAM! I couldn't stop laughing and he got pissed and couldn't beleive this newbie drinker was running the table. Sure enough, I won that night, and they'll never let me drink and play poker with them anymore. Laughing

If you noticed Vanessa, I added that tid bit into the short story I sent ya. I might have to do a few more corrections to with this new revelation of Ronald in page 27.

Oh, I'm fine with it by now. It gives me a large number of entertaining anecdotes, at least. Like when I was on fire. At least I'm not my father who has a predilection to fall. Fall down stairs, off of buildings, off of boats, etc. Razz

I did draw a royal flush one time in a game, though. Unfortunately, the game was Spades. Fortunately, it was a royal flush in spades. It's quite thing when you can bet 8 and your partner bet 0 and you meet it exactly. No money was on the line, but that means it's possible for me to win. Very Happy

Oh? Your luck turns especially for the worse when money is on the line?

I've been to a few casinos in the past... there's a Native owned casino about a half-hour's drive from here, and my own tribe has its casino in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan that I've been in quite a few times.

That being said, I tend to avoid the blackjack tables (because I'm a terrible blackjack player) and the poker tables (because it's too expensive), but I'm a definite sucker for the slot machines. I've even played some of the video poker games, and tend to do pretty well (and by "pretty well", I mean "break even"). It's true, the blinking lights and the bells and chimes of those machines are really good at grabbing your attention, and I swear they hypnotize you into spending your money. So, because of my lack of card game experience, I figured I'd share a slot-machine story!

I remember one time I went to an education conference at another Native owned casino in Michigan (there's quite a few of them here) and I found out that I had not brought enough money with me to last me the entire weekend of the conference (I was still a poor college student at that point, as opposed to the poor working stiff I am today) I was a bit upset, until I realized that the casino's hotel had given every conference guest some complimentary tokens for the slot and video machines. I had about $10 worth of complimentary tokens, plus my own small bit of money (I think I had about 30 bucks total, not enough for 3 meals a day for 3 days, plus gas money for the return trip). I decided to try my luck on a few slot machines, as I always had a nack for at least earning an extra 5 or 10 bucks in the past. By the end of the night I had won about $150! I was able to feed myself and provide gas money for the trip home.

The End.

Sure, it's not an exciting story, but what do you expect? It's a slot-machine story!
