Is it possible ? Just discovered that Polarcircle isn't any english word, or is it ? At least not the one I was looking for guess arctic circle is the right word ? Or is it spelled arctic-circle ?
Does anyone know if there's a website with english/norwegian - norwegian/english translations ?
And please correct my bad spellings as I can learn from them. _________________ Norwegian fan freezing north of the arctic circle. |

Nothing wrong with Polarcircle. Seems fine to me. And a fitting icon too to go with the username.
We don't do username changes though.

Your forum name doesn't have to be a real word. Take mine for example. Wildcard isn't an actual word, it's really two separate words, but I combined them to make a name out of it. Essentially, you've just done the same, although that wasn't the intention you had.
I believe the term you might have mistaken polar circle for is polar caps, but I don't think 'Polarcaps' makes as nice a sounding name as Polarcircle does. _________________

Hehe, ok. Icebear is a direct translation from norwegian, so polar bear is the correct word. Thanks.
Wildcard
I understand my forum name doesn't have to be a real word, but the name I intended to have was arctic-circle.
And I thought polarcircle was the english word for arctic-circle.
What is a polar caps ? And does the word "polar circle" mean anything to you ?
I have to find a web site where I can tranlate the words, hehe.
My translations seems to fail alot
Term hmmmm....... _________________ Norwegian fan freezing north of the arctic circle. |

The polar caps refer to the polar regions of the earth, which are the Arctic Circle and the Antarctic Circle. I understand what 'polar circle' is supposed to mean in a general sense, even without you explaining what you intended, though it lacks specific meaning because it doesn't specify which polar region it's referring to. Probably not what you wanted to hear, but I still think it's a cool name (pun not intentional). _________________

Uh... well... I don't know about all that. I think Martina just misses the challenge of trying to make more postings than me. Thanks though. _________________

Well, Alta Vista has a nice online translater, called Babel Fish. Unfortunately, not english/norwegian(last time I've checked). Google has a translater too I've heard, but I've never used that one. _________________ To die for... |

I like her humour too. She's British. I talk to British girls al the time at work. I somehow got infected with the English humour. And they sound sexy on the phone too _________________ To die for... |

The arctic circle is called, when litarally translated from Dutch to English
polar circle (pool cirkel --> polar circle ).
In swedish it is Polcirkeln, so similar as in Dutch
So the English language just prefers another word,
And yes polar circle does exist in english, but it is a mahematical figure.
For those who are in Mathematics:
http://mathworld.wolfram.com/PolarCircle.html
That site does have nice animated gifs
But that is off topic here |

Actually, there are 2 polar circles, one northern circle, called the Arctic Circle and one southern circle, called the Antarctic Circle. |
