I got a chance to see this movie and this is just offensive to say the least. For a quick synopsis: The film is an upcoming biopic of Bruce Lee and his fight with Shifu Wong Jack Man. While the film is mostly Chinese, it does star Billy Magnussen who plays a fictional student Steve McKee(a play on one of Bruce's actual students Steve McQueen.) Steve becomes the focus of discrimination since he's a white male who's learning Chinese martial arts while having a Chinese girlfriend. Not only does this spit on the history of what happened but seriously,we can't have films with Asian males who have an interracial relationship with white females.

(( Hey DW,

So... is that a rhetorical question then?

Anyway, some things take forever to change... and some things to easily revert back to the previous methodology. And, for as liberal and accepting as the movie business can be, it can be equally as regressive and entrenched as well.

Um... yeah. I'm not sure what to say. This is one of those topics that seems to take two steps forward, and two steps back. ))
