I was wondering, does anyone else here play LotRO? What server? What level/race/class are your characters? Are you in any kinships?
I play on the Nimrodel server. I have two characters currently, a level 85 elf guardian, and a level 18 human hunter. Both of my characters are in the same kinship which is called Dark Knights of Mirkwood. Recently, my elf was selected to be the leader of the kinship, so I am attempting to rebuild it back up from its inactive state. _________________ My fursonas |

-nods to silverleaf- I've been playing it for almost a year and a half now, but I am a big fan of Lord of the Rings too. Before, I generally disliked MMOs but because I like LotR so much I gave it a shot. It's a good game to play and I enjoy it. _________________ My fursonas |

How about because it is crap? Last time I played it, when it first came out, the controls were clunky, the graphics were sub-par and there was more focus on "building a home" than actually fighting things. I felt like I was playing Lord of the Sims, not Lord of the Rings.
Truth be told, the ONLY thing I miss about playing LotRO is the ABC notation feature. But I won't even miss that for very much longer because ABC notation is being put into Starbound.
I'd sooner pay to play a Twilight MMO than be paid to play Lord of the Rings Online. _________________

Ah, yeah, I heard from some of the older players in my kinship that it did get off to a rough start but as far as I can tell Turbine has made some very good improvements to the game. If you like Lord of the Rings it might be worth a second chance, but that is up to you to give it or not. I'm not telling you that you have to, lol. I was never big on MMO's period until I started playing there. Either way you are entitled to your opinion of it, but I respectfully disagree that it's shit. _________________ My fursonas |

I tried World of Warcraft once before I started playing LotRO but the general attitude I got from most of the players left a bad taste in my mouth. From my experience, WoW was rampant with twinks that treated other players who were not with disdain. This also left me with a dislike for PvP combat as again, the twinks with the better gear acted like they were better than the players who did not have it. _________________ My fursonas |
