With the parlor finally empty,Jess let out a long relieved sigh as she locked the door and turned the hanging sign from open to close.She examined the make shift board nailed over the broken window,and decided it would hold for now.Jess walked over to her book and scratched down with the pencil the amount agreed for wage to Jerin,counted out said amount,and handed it to him."Thats all for today Jerin,there is small room above the hayloft in the stables,not much more than a bed and a door really,but the roof does not leak,and it will keep the draft out,its yours to use if you wish".Jess said gesturing towards the back door and the stables.
As she tallied up the books and counted out and stored the coins in the strong box,it occurred to her that she had not seen Scorpia or Shiho in hours.She was about to ask Katrin where they were,when Jess spotted a small scrap of paper packing out from under the ledger.Jess slipped it out and began to read.After a few moments,tears began to well in Jess' eyes.She looked up to see Katrin looking at her,concerned."It seems Scorpia and Shiho have gone on an art pilgrimage,traveling to the countries of the world to see all the masterpieces and local bests.She may not be back for years,and confesses part of the reason she is leaving is she doesn't want to get any deep feelings for me". Jess explained and began to cry softly. |

Jerin SHook his head at Katrin. "Didn't think I was. Sorry haven't had to deal with people that much over the past few years. Was wondering if that las customer was." When Jessica handed him the check he smiled gratefully. At mention of the loft, his grin became somewhat sheepish.
