well i think the best the socceroos can do is get to the 2nd round. brazil will win our group so we have to somehow beat croatia and japan .
if we can get through then Guus and the team will have done well.
out of the main chances i will be barracking for Argentina or Netherlands. they are in same group but both should go through. |

Here's an interesting World Cup fact:
Only once in 1958 has a non-European team won the cup when played on European soil. (Brazil winning in Sweden)
Since then, European teams have won all European World Cups and non-European teams have won all World Cups played elsewhere.
Should be fun to see if 2006 holds true to form.
Lots of good teams to choose from, England looks very strong, the Germans get to play at home, Brazil wants to repeat. I think Team USA will make it out of their group.
But the biggest question is: why is the official mascot Goleo not wearing any pants?

The first match for the Dutch went reasonably well.
A 1-0 victory over Servia/Montenegro.
Oh you can get a cool scarf her @McDonnalds that says:

Yeah but that was an own goal. Hardly a convincing performance
But if we beat Trinidad and Tobago then we're definitely through to the 2nd round

Bennie, your mapmaker must have been upside down when he tried to spell "Arctic" Ocean!
USA still has an outside chance, but must get at least a draw with Italy and then defeat Ghana. Even that may not be enough. They did have one of the most difficult groups. |

You are welcome
From the 32 countries that started (in 8 groups) 16 will make it to the second round.
England and Holland already are through, the US and Australia still have good chances
The remaining group-matches:
(UK/Dutch/US & Down under)
tuesday 20 jun 21.00 pm
Sweden- England
wednesday 21 jun 21.00 pm
Holland- Argentina
thursday 22 jun 16.00 pm
Ghana - USA
thursday 22 jun 21.00 pm
Croatia - Australia
Alle times CET so substract 9 hours and you have PST
Australia does well until now
It is not that popular in US is it ? |

No need to worry !
Both countries (Holland and Argentina) are already sure of playing in the second round !!!!!
Even if Holland loses (most ppl think they will loose) they stil go through

Yep against argentina that was a good result.
Unlike England who should have beaten Sweden 2-1. That second Sweedish goal only got through because of a mad panic in the English defence. Still we win the group and might up playing Holland |

That would be horrible if England played Holland. I would have to support for Holland, but wouldnt be upset if England won, as they my 2nd fave team
Too bad was happened to Michael Owen, i feel this is going to be the end to his career
Ok whos playing next ? Ghana against the USA right? LOL I can not guess who will win, both teams arent very good _________________ Martina Warren - Official Website of the 2005 Penthouse Pet of the Year
