Hey Martina!
Hope it was a good idea to talk about movies. Maybe the others have some good movie tips for you too.
I found a DVD copy of "The Terminal". Will watch it as soon as I have time, but I'm quite certain I like it. Tom Hanks ïs a great actor and I loved him in "castaway" and "Forest Gump". Plus Catarina Zeta Jones is super hot. Always felt mad Michael Douglas stole her away...
He was good though in "Falling Down".
Some of the movies I liked last year:
"The Village" from the same creator as "the 6th sense"
"HERO" a must see if you liked "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon"
"SHREK2" an instant classic even better then the first one.
I also watched "Van Helsing" and "Underworld". They are ok, but I mainly watched them because Kate Beckinsale is really hot. _________________ Don't Panic! |

Yes i love Tom Hanks too as an actor, he was great in all those movies. I havent seen any of the other movies you mentioned other then Shrek 2, which is one of my faves. I thought Shrek 2 was better then Shrek 1.
While i was in New York, Natalia and i had some spare time so we watched "Shark Tale" in our room on the hotels PPV. I liked it but didnt think it was as good as others like Shrek 2 etc. It did have some quite funny bits in it though.
Today i went and watched "Meet the Fockers" in the Movie Theater, I liked it but it wasnt as good as the first one, worth seeing though _________________ Martina Warren - Official Website of the 2005 Penthouse Pet of the Year

If you haven't seen "Ray" yet, I highly recommend it. Jamie Foxx is absolutely spectacular in it (and well deserving of his Golden Globe). Maybe you can find a theater still showing it.
Just saw "Troy" on dvd -- it's a classic "grand epic" costume drama (tho Brad Pitt spends as much time out of his costume as in it). It's entertaining and occasionally resembles Homer's story.
Watched "Catwoman" last night -- Halle Berry almost saves it. (The outfit was nice, I have to admit.)
PS -- if Kate B. hadn't been in "Underworld" it would have been completely unwatchable, in my humble opinion. And I LOVE vampire movies! _________________ Proud to be Martina's b***h! |

Anyone seen the movie Elektra yet? I think Jennifer Garner is a terrific actress (I really need to get back into Alias), though her performance as that character in Daredevil wasn't exactly prime. Mind you, I guess they couldn't have her upstage Ben Affleck, and he didn't really do the role a great deal of justice. Get it? Justice... HEHEHARHAHA! _________________

I haven't seen it yet either, Martina. I'm not quite sure what to think about it, because they didn't really show much in the promotional preview for it on TV. I read a synopsis for it at Yahoo, and it sounds kind of interesting, but I don't know that it'll exactly be blockbuster material. _________________

You got me there
Well it kinda depends on the quality of the story how much you are distracted by things like those.
Plus some casters really go for looks, because it will attract more people.
Just curious what kinda stuff you did.
I think you once mentioned being in a commercial and an episode of a tv series in England. Am I right? Do you remember what things you acted for?
Cool movietips here! Another reason to return to Martina's webboard.
Did anyone see some things about "the Hitchhikersguide to the galaxy"?
I read all the Douglas Adams books and thought they would be impossible to create movies from, but well I thought the same about "The Lord of the Rings" _________________ Don't Panic! |

Hey Satch check this link http://hitchhikers.movies.go.com/
Yeah I bet it's not as good as the books ... There was a TV series shown in the UK ages ago but I've only seen little clips of it. |

Ok
As a kid i did a "Volvo" car commercial, and also did a "keepers keys" commercial.
I was an extra on "The Bill" and "Eastenders"
Then i played a murdered school girl in the series "Burnside"
I did a "Club 18-30" Commercial
And did 2 Music Videos, one of which was the "WestLife" Video we couldnt see me in. And the other video was by an unknown artist.
Since arriving in the USA, i stopped bothering with TV Work unless it was for interviews etc
But Next week i will be working at this convention http://www.natpe.org/
And apparantly its the biggest TV Exec convention, so you ll never know if any thing comes out of it _________________ Martina Warren - Official Website of the 2005 Penthouse Pet of the Year

Ah I was just browsing through my old movies. There's a movie that is my all time favourite. It's called "Paris, Texas". It's a story about true love, but in a different way then you might expect. It might not be easy to find it, but worth searching for.

Has anyone seen it?
Ok back to my movie _________________ Don't Panic! |

This is your mission then. See all five and report back with the info about them. Be warned though, if you are captured all knowledge of your actions will be disavowed.

Yeah I love the slide playing of Ry Cooder!
The movie has a strange atmsphere to it. I would not directly say heavy going, but more like melancholic. Not a hollywood type production I would say. It's quite an old movie (1984) so it might be hard to find. _________________ Don't Panic! |

Here are the recent movies I've seen:
1) Million Dollar Baby
2) Ray
3) The Incredibles
4) Friday Night Lights
5) Hotel Rwanda
6) Aviator
7) Closer
All the movies above have been nominated for one or more Oscars award.
I would highly recommend Million Dollar Baby....cried like a baby after seeing the movie...so so so...ooooo SAD!!!! I gotta feeling Hilary Swank will win the Oscar for Best Actress and Morgan Freeman will win for Best Supporting Actor.
Ray was another good movie....I think Jamie Foxx will win the Oscar for Best Actor.
The Incredibles was very entertaining and hillarious.
Friday Night Lights...was ok.
Hotel Rwanda....very very good....very very shocking & sad what happened in Rwanda...really hard to believe something like this could happen so recently!
Aviator....over rated...didn't think too much of it. It may be Leonardo's best acting movie...but that's not saying much!
Closer....you definitely could skip this one. |

Thank you for the movie critiques, sfthong. Do me a favor though, please don't post again using that orange color, it left my eyes feeling quite irritated. If you want to post in large text perhaps you could just stick to doing so in dark colors. My eyes would be very much appreciative of that. _________________

Hahaha...funny. Yeh...so far haven't had any urge to smoke. It's good thing because I just got back from snowboarding and will be going again in couple of weeks and again two weeks after that...at a high altitude, I need all the lung power I can get.
Wildcard, do you live near Whistler/Black Comb resort? That is the best place to ski & snowboard in the world. I travelled all over the world and Whistler is definitely the place to be. European women there are just incredibly beautiful and friendly. The town also has great night life...unlike most other ski resorts.
If you don't snowboard, you should think about taking it up....take a lesson from a swedish cutie...I did few years ago! |

No, I don't really live all that near to Whistler, and have never learned to ski or snowboard. As for the European women, I'm sure the only thing that would interest them about me is watching me take a headfirst dive into the snow. _________________

Hey...don't be so harsh on yourself...be confident...women love confident men. It's not about the way you look, what you do for a living, how much you make (well for some women it is)...it's all about the ATTITUDE! Women love men who are confident about themselves....trust me on this.
Martina...isn't that right? Women love men who are confident about themselves?
In regards to snowboarding...it's never too late. Just drive up to the nearest ski/snowboard resort after a heavy snow fall and take a beginner's lesson. You'll be snowboarding, carving up the slopes, falling onto a beautiful snow bunny in no time! Being a 34 year old is not old...you're just beginning to open up your wings...
Remember...it's all in your attitude! |

That's what I used to think too, and played Prince Charming (well, I didn't have any white horse, haha) but got zip, zero, zilch, notta, and nowhere with women. I guess it's like the French say, c'est la vie. I've given up trying to ask women out, so that pretty much puts the lid on that. Thanks anyway though. _________________
