Hey Alley and site creators. I was wondering if there was a chance that there could be "mobile" downloads for the site?I recently bought a PDA/Smartphone and was very happy that I was able to log into and browse the website... Kinda lol... I was able to see like the skin section, some of the tattoo section. No videos though cause the quicktime format and probably some other area's.

Just to try things, I tried to download and set one of the wallpapers for my home screen but it was to big and I had to "crop" it out but when I did and I set it, it still didn't look right. So started to think how awesome it would be to have like a mobile version of the site or just a section like devoted to mobile downloads. Heck you could probably get away with charging to download a wallpaper for a pda/smartphone via premium text messaging?

Now one problem would be people with pda/smartphone vs people with regular cell phones. The regular cell phones have smaller screens where the pda/smartphones have a bigger screen. Also if you guys know how, could create like themes for windows mobile 5 which would totally rock.

So just a suggestion/idea for something in the future and or making the site fully openable through a pda/smartphone since they use Win Mobile 5's Internet Explorer which is kinda like a reg computer browser just alot more limitations and less plug ins...

Still awesome though to be able to view the page sorta while on the go or like at work when its slow lol... I love it!!!

i brought this idea up before too - i think it would do well, mobile dls of pics and videos...
i also suggested mobile versions screensavers and her games would be fun too!

i know i would pay for them...

guess the idea isn't catching on much tho

Hi Alley,

Any new's or thoughts about this maybe in the "near" future? I bet you could set something up that is like a "premium text message" kind of like how you see those commercials like on MTV about "Jamster" where "we" would text a short code to you/site that would give us access to such premium content like pics, screensavers, games, ringtones???

I work at Verizon Wireless and while I'm in Wireless Data Tech Support (Tech support for PDA's and PC Cards, and our Data Services) I'm sure I can find out like general info on how you can set up your OWN premium short text messaging codes because I think anyone can create one and all.

I think it's kind of like getting a domain for a website in a way. We just had a training on text messaging which had the premium stuff in it since they're trying to have us learn more so we don't have to transfer people for simple issue's like text messaging, because techinically we're the last level of support. We're "Tier 3" support but we don't handle calls/issue's that's "voice" related and some customers find it "odd" that we're such a high level of technical support but we don't "support" very simple issue's so tehy're giving us trainings in that since it's not hard so we don't have to xfer people yet again...

But anyways, I know the info we have about the prem txt's is like general "Industry" info as those are avaliable on any wireless carrier.

So let me know if it's something your interested in maybe looking into and I can get the info how it works and how people can make their own prem service via txt messaging.

You could have like a section on your site maybe under the store where you have smaller versions of a wallpaper formatted for a cell phone (and hopefully a PDA screen since that's the kind of phone I have lol) and someone would just send a text message to like say "25539" (which is "Alley" and it's perfect because it's 5 digits which equals a prem txt that would incur a charge either monthly or a one time per message) Then in the message field they could put in "4th of July" and send it off, then the user would get a message back confirming they "agree" to be charged say $2.99 for 4th of July wallpaper. The user then replies with "YES" and then within a few mins they receive a "MMS" txt message (Multimedia Messaging Service) with the wallpaper that you had for the 4th of July formatted for their device and they'd just open and save to their phone and set as wallpaper and whala! The lovely Alley right there every time we open our phone!!!

I'm sure there's a little more to it but just to give you kind of an idea and plus another way for us to buy more stuff from/of you.

I also wouldn't "want" anything for helping or anything like that. It'd be an honor to be able to help find out info for you for a new feature/service on your awesome site!

It's awesome that I can access your site from my Moto Q as it is, so like on lunch I can come browse the site and forums, or even while on calls could go through pix sets that defitnitely helps me on a call (a little distracting but ohhhh so worth it lol) just gotta be careful no one walks behind me and see's nudity on my phone lol...

But I think it's something that would defitnitely pick up and sure to be a hit...

Can you send me more info on what it would take to start something like that? As for the wallpapers that would be formatted for phones....I think that's something I could do....say maybe as a bonus for ELITE members? : )

J3....sorry, I get SOOOOO many ideas and comments and suggestions that sometimes some ideas don't get the attention they deserve. It's good to bring up certain good ideas from time to time....if they've never been addressed.

Sure thing. I'll look into it Tuesday when I get back to work. I know we have a huge section that explains this in great details and I'll even ask my Supervisor as well. Hopefully it's not all just geared towards Verizon Wireless service, hopefully it's as a whole which I think it is because it's basically something that is avaliable to everyone on any carrier.

But I've already added it to my calendar because I forget alot but I won't for this. I'll even stay during my lunch digging up the info without distractions. I might have access to our system from here also, see what I can find.
