For Alley..the webmaster and anyother Legal guy around here..
I shall cut straight to the point...
Other than my own, I know a pass into Alleybaggett.net that a couple of my friends in school use..well they don't know that I am a Alley Baggett fan, and I have my own membership, but they're real dicks.. Who do I email or write to about getting the Owner of that Username and password notified to change it so He's not being robbed of his money..??
thanx.. _________________ ~~There couldn't be a sexier model alive than Alley Baggett~~ |

He probably purchased the membership so he could give the password out. As long as the password still works, he's getting his money's worth, plus letting someone else get access too. But because of the legal implications (IE, paying for cable and knowingly letting someone else in your neighborhood access to the cable), any and all password sharing by these bastards are investigated and shut down, and most adult-themed websites may or may not implement strategies to keep the violator(s) from coming back. Most adult websites also have terms and conditions of memberships, and one of the terms is to keep passwords in a "safe place" and to never share passwords with other people.
However, "safe place" is vaguely defined by most T&C. For many, the place that most people think is safe from prying eyes are their own cubicles. Where I used to work, many coworkers were writing passwords to important programs on little Post-It notes and attaching these notes to their monitor! Coworkers walking by may glimpse these passwords and use them to hack into the programs and do nefarious things, i.e. change their (the thief's) pay rate, make changes to the budget, embezzle, etc... Enron comes to mind, although that wasn't a password-theft issue.
Most important, passwords involving credit card accounts, such as the ones used to log into bank sites, are especially more troublesome, as a single second's worth of a glimpse can be enough to hack into your bank account, and empty it entirely (the more money your have in your account, the more you should protect your password at all costs; $20 is nothing, $20k is worth killing people to protect.)
I know this is a case of password-give, but to protect yourself from password-theft, you should consider buying a biometric password manager. Microsoft, APC, and dozens more make fingerprint recognition devices; a simple swipe of the finger (index finger is the most common) can get you into any file or website that has a password. A simple setup program comes with most devices. |
